Imagine That Photography

I was with this company for 7 months and, at first, I loved it and thought it was the best job ever. Then they sent me all over the Sydney Metro (I don't drive so I had to catch public transport) sometimes taking me over 3 hours, to and from, and over $15 a day in transport fares.
I started as a PR which, in all honesty, is the worst job in the history of the world. Stressful and unrealistic targets you're forced to hit on a daily basis; and if you don't hit them your job WILL be threatened. After around 5-6 months I finally was trained to be a Photographer (despite studying photography) and after a month or so, the company tells me they've hired 'too many' new photographers and I have to become a PR again. Um, no. I asked for this not to occur and they placed me on a team with just photographers, so I had no choice to be PR. 
When I worked there the pay was minimum. Not worth the travel at all. Management was awful (one manager will take your side while another will threaten and treat you like garbage). 
People who've worked there longer get more leniency with hours and shifts. If you're new you don't get Sunday's or a choice in what days you want off (which is standard to some people). But what did bother me was that the company also had 'favourites' and will constantly compare you to them. If you're doing bad on numbers, be like this employee or that employee because they're perfect at everything they do.

I don't really know it is an UNPAID trial before I went there. Because when I asked about payment before, they just tell me "it is $25/hr as a casual work, and after trial you would receive a contract...." Did not mention about UNPAID at all. But after that, they send me an e-mail include an attachment said it is unpaid in the end of it, but didn't tell me through message. So I only know it after the whole day trail. The way they do it is a bit tricky, makes me feel like I have been totally used. So people would like to work for it, should notice that the trial is UNPAID!!! If you just wanna earn money, then probably don't waste your time there. 
The work is quite tiring and not really related with photography actually. Basically the part you need to do is to be really dramatic in public to get children's attention. If you think you can do that and accept free trial, then you could give it a try.

I really didn't enjoy my time with the company. The coworkers are nice and the pay is okay, but that's about it. All of my coworkers were sick of it and me too. 

If you don't have a car and even then the commute can be annoyingly long and costly, easily 15aud a day. 

The management was very unprofessional. Like said here before, they would call you and yell at you if you did something wrong, threatening to fire you. This happened to even to those who had worked with the company for ages. They would not listen to you. 

If you're a photographer, you won't get to be creative at all, because they're using a formula. As a promoter, you will be told to push and push all the time until the customers give in. Kids, of course, are often lovely and surely the best part of the job. 

If you decide to apply, know it's going to be very stressful. They're looking for new people all the time for a reason.

If you enjoy being spied on, receiving threats weekly that you will loose your job if targets aren't met (despite reaching targets), and enjoy working for impersonal stressed managers then step right up. 

Pay was the only good thing about working here, but sometimes they cancel your Sundays if they feel like it with such short notice so you can be skimped out on promised hours. Didn't receive any of my bonuses, you only get them if you sign a full time contract after a 3 month probation. How convenient. No proper training received.

Honestly, just go out and shoot freelance.

Got told last minute that I had a trial. Yes that’s fine. Changed everything around. Went to my trial, was told by the photographer that I was amazing at setting up and getting kids ready. And she doesn’t see a reason why I won’t get the job. And she looks forward to working with me in a week when I start working full time. Well never received a call. Never received any bit of information. Wasted a whole day bringing in customers and doing the best I could do. For 4 hours unpaid and not receiving a job.

Best part of the job is working with the young children and also with the other girls on the set.

The pay is pretty good if you can get the targets, unfortunately we couldn't always get, but I guess that's probably the same anywhere else.

The shopping centres change quite a bit so transport can be challenging, but at the same time there are opportunities for paid travel around the country, it was nice to get paid and holiday in places I probably otherwise was not going to get to go to.

A good place to work for casual job only. Not ideal as a long-term option. The work is very repetitive.  Needs better organisation and more co-ordination between the admin/customer service staff and sales staff.  Communication between the teams could be improved. 
Not enough sales leads to really make good money. 
In-house computer system slow and basic.
Flexibility with hours was a plus.

If you enjoy being yelled at by the phone, being micromanaged 24/7, under paid, being ignored while you ask for minimal understanding and being under appreciated as a real photographer search no more. 

Management loves to claim they are in charge but really don’t know how to carry a business, hence the reason why they are always on the look for new photographers, the most effective encouraging method they used is threatening your position.

This company is geared towards backpackers looking for residency in Australia. Because of this, you work very closely with inexperienced staff a lot of the time. A lot of travel is involved, but if you enjoy that it will be good for you. There are no managers on site, and they call from queensland regularily to check in on sales. Photographers are expected to both get customers in and shoot the shoots. Where the PR's are only expected to get people in.

i loved working with ITP its shame that there all the way over in oz but if i had to the chance i would drop everything to work with them again the things i loved the most was to work with my team on studio one and to try out all the new stuff that i was learning day by day
