The role in Customer Service was extremely varied. Sometimes you are cheap security and you'll stand in the same position up to eight hours a day asking people where they are going. Some days you'll be lucky and work in the theatre for events and see your favourite band for free. If you work often/are friendly enough with supervisors you'll get the good jobs like reception work or being a client liaison. 

There was little career progression and when it was offered, you had to be best friends or family with the hiring staff to get the positions. Not only that, if you can't work an offered shift they will always have someone to replace you either being your coworkers or agency staff. If you don't work a set minimum shifts a month, you'll be out of a job. Turnover is extremely high in this company. 

The company really need to take care of looking after it's staff however. I was assaulted by a drunk patron during a live show and made a report to my supervisor who dismissed it and made me feel guilty for what had happened. It was then I realised what little care factor they had in order to save face for the company. In the end this incident is what pushed me to resign. No benefits are worth that.

Overall a great company,; Plenty of job opportunities, good hours and culture.

* The one exception, is the Usher role. Do not be an Usher at ICC Sydney for the following reasons:
- They do not follow through the Multi-Hire process they so highly advertise
- Not disability friendly at all (True story)
- There are no chairs provided while you stand for long hours on your standing position (You're not even allowed to rest for 2 minutes, for example, on the chairs that are already in the building)
- Every time you need the toilet, you need to state over a 2-way walkie talkie for someone to replace your position. (The whole team on shift can hear this)
-  True story- I was rudely questioned from a Supervisor for needing an extra 5 minutes in the bathroom
- There's no support from Management- They simply don't respond to your emails
- Most supervisors are toxic- All the great ones leave! 
- The rostering process is so disorganised- You won't get many shifts unless you suck up to the toxic Supervisors

I highly suggest to apply for any OTHER job at ICC Sydney !

The ICC is a good place to work for people who need flexibility, but working as an usher the shifts are very intermittent. You can’t rely on them to give you consistent work.

Office staff are rude to casuals, will often walk past you without even looking at you or acknowledging you exist. Poor management as well at the top that don’t know what is happening within the team, director is rude to staff and will often walk straight past you.

Within the team, supervisors are friendly but do not recognise you for the work that you do at all, 4-5 workers get all the shifts no matter what meaning the number of shifts you can get is low. With work not being recognised at all you will not get more shifts by doing more.

Overall very disappointed with my time at the ICC, was made to feel less of a person by the upper staff, never recognised for work that I did with them. Would highly recommend looking at another place to work if possible.

The ICC Sydney were very interesting experience with; conventions, expositions and concerts; In the department we meet daily with the team collaborating to coordinate the process and objectives to be successful with all programs and requirements customize guest skills in a live event environment, adapt to new situations, multi-task prioritizing and interacting with customers providing the knowledge of the services; asking questions and make suggestions encouraging curiosity results-oriented, approach the programs and delivery with excellent Interpersonal and presentational skills keeping strategy with co-operative team environment to manage and sharing their enthusiasm for the activities, with full attention and ability keeping the big picture in mind staying calm in challenging situations to share information and solve issues  jointly.

Events industry suits particular individuals who like fast paced cultures where no day is the same and people who can be reactive and cope under pressure. It requires resilience. This can be stressful and sometimes long hours for any department, but also rewarding  at the end to see hard work and ideas come to life at events and get positive feedback. 

The leadership team are better than other companies for taking action quickly and being results orientated. Full time team members know how support each other and celebrate big and small successes, but sometimes there are tensions and politics.

This interview at icc sydney is a job interview with the company that I have worked with before and called back to work again. This is a discussion and understanding of the system and the way of working for me to come back to work with ICC. Again everything went well. no test or any competition but it's still don't have lots of event or some work until later on next month thats only a thing might need to be aware and think of how to do in further

No stress at all. Everyone is friendly. 

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Work environment is really nice. You all find people from many different cultures. 

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Stress-free environment, no pressure at all.

The pay is good and they provide the cafeteria with laundry clothes. however, the staff turnover is so high and even if you want to work here so much, after closing or a long holiday, they will try to open new hiring instead of contact you back if they need people. that upset me 
maybe they just too big to have a connection with people

good working with environment with happy people and good team vibes, a good learning and working environment. Hours are plenty, staff canteen and food breaks were sufficient, safety was imperitive, food safe health standards are remarkable, management is focused, orgnaised and ensured all team memebers were working together as it is a high functioning environment. FANTASTIC PLACE AND ENJOYABLE WORK ETHICS.

Employee benefits could be better, but overall I enjoy my time working at ICC. The teammates are helpful, it is mostly a happy working environment. I walk out with satisfaction after each shift I do there.
