Huon Aquaculture

7 day on and 7 day off roster. Lived on board the barge for 7 days. Daily routine to be completed of computer readings for fish feed and maintenance of fish cages, nets and feeders etc.
Management  in general was good. General manager of site suffered depression and had good and bad days, plus "favourites". If you were not on the favourite team,  it was definitely a disadvantage.
Co workers were  good an mostly helpful and eager to learn.
Hardest part of the job was living on the barge and could not go anywhere for 7 days and nights. No alcohol allowed on the barge at all and sparse living conditions at the time. This has since been improved by a new barge.
Most enjoyable part of the job was that once the work was completed for the day, the rest of the day was free to relax.

What is the best part of working at the company?
Paid is not bad as long as you work on weekend shifts and public holidays 

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Poor management in some rooms, unfairly rostering 

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Working with people from multiple countries,some of them are nice.
But if the manager doesn’t like you,you barely get roster

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Clock in,set up the room,running the product,pack up

A great culture amongst employees, something that is not cultivated but just exists. 
With a strong focus on production rates the ever increasing yield is only a sign that this company is heading toward a solid position in the stock market. 
For those with initiative and the energy to create a work place worth waking up for, the opportunities are there for a career in which the options are endless.
As the company is at a milestone now in 2015, change is all around and improvements are always around the corner.

Was an okay place to work good hours, except when busy, but just another job really nothing to exciting, not very good communication and no organization skills at all and to many want to be bosses,pay was well below most other laboring  jobs,owners of the company were very nice, honest and down to earth cannot complain with them.

Nepotism is a problem at this company. once you get past the fact you'll be overlooked for promotions in favour of someones whos dad works there or is friends of the owners youll do well. good team atmosphere among work mates and excellent comradarie. ever changing workplace

A great environment to work, wide and varied tasks from gyprock repairs to ceilings,  to electrical repairs from replacing light globes through to repairing a full range of food processing machines. 
I could not speak more highly of the owners.

Stressful working environment due to unorganized management with poor management skills, hard to comply with the orders that gave by team leaders/supervisor

People were horrible and culture was terrible. Animal welfare was bad as well as safety and workers rights. Management aren’t trained properly and everything that you do is judged. Don’t work for them

I feel not stable working there and not recommended for someone seek a job 

The management is good and workplace culture still priority senior people

I feel enjoyable because just do one job and same
