fast paced job constantly moving around yard to cater to demands from production lines! i have learnt heaps working with concrete. The products require exacting specialized unique job skills when moving the concrete pipes and culverts. Management they are like a bunch of red necks? that's wot us kiwis call a breed of opossum in NZ. Like in NZ we cull opossums cause they are totally over running the native fauna/bush. well we try shooting them trapping them but the bugga's just keep on keeping on just like our management, they are a tough hardy breed? as for my ozzy ko wanka's,oops workers they are a bunch of Klowns good blokes. Hardest part of the job? finding someone whom will stay long enough to learn the job then i can bugger off. the most enjoyable part of the job? = friday knock off wen we head for the local pub to watch the strippers woohoo.

The account managers are overbearing. The sales manager wont stand up to them. The processes are outdated and need improvement. They say they want change but always turn back to previous ways. The account managers wont let go and should concentrate on doing the job they should and not interfere with others positions. There is insufficient training for every new comer. No process manual, no training task guide. Pressure starts at day one and doesn't resolve. Attitude from fellow management and those moved from the team due to lack of performance.

Last job i was at, was good. I learnt different type of things like moulding pipes, barries, patching pipes inside an outside. Every morning we all ways had toolbox meeting, might be about work or safety or anything we can approve on i'll salves in our work area which i liked because for me safety is the key. We would shacth out after our toolbox meetings, which was very good, because your standing up all day from Monday to Friday.

My time at Humes was productive and I was able to learn a great deal about the industry. The culture in management however needs to be improved. Lines of communication where often hard to establish with internal stakeholders, however with recent changes to the organisational structure it appears the only way this company can go is up.

Most of the guys there are great. It's a hard place to go forward in, if you don't perform or disagree your out. Once it goes quite, usually round November people get put off, not much consideration for men with families, the money is good so worth having a go to see if you fit in, early starts with lots of overtime when it's on.

Don't hold your breath for full time.Very fickle industry.good times and bad.Plenty of overtime when times are good or little to no work when times are bad.Bad can go for weeks at a time.

Humes itself is very good but some of the workers are very bad. some full-time workers are jealous and complain to management for a place to their relatives. maximum workers are helpful but some are bad complaining for no reason.some have no heart and humanity on them.

it was a great place to work and also learn as well , it didn't take long for me to understand the job because on site training was really helpful and accurate to get you on your toes and understand the duties you will need to get on with your job

The guys in reo shed were helpfull and good to work with ,, there was no room for advance ment within the company , no interest in taking on people full time  only casauls so no   security within the job .
