I 've  been working  for AHS more than 2 years, I started  in Perth WA and I use to do many things like;  room attendant, Windows cleaner, house man, but I have worked more time as a public area. Was good to be there working at the Rendezvous Hotel even sometime they did not appreciate our job. The management of the hotel was very poor and sometimes makes things harder. When I got here in Melbourne I thought would be different  but  was very stressful, at the beginning they put me in two different hotels, some time  working mornings sometimes night, but they didn't give me the roster, so I have to go to the hotel and when I get there they tell me if I have job next day or not. I couldn't plan my life because I have no Idea  which day I will be working or not and   who was my manager so I can speak  about it . I've been working very hard as a use to, giving my 100%  as I always do , and a few days ago I thought that I will get a good pay and I was checking my pay slip I noticed that was missing  two days worked and I still have not been paid this. Is very frustrating!!

Greeting guests and responding to queries. Changing bed linen and making beds. Replacing used towels and other bathroom amenities, such as shampoo and soap. Sweeping and mopping floors.I learn how to be patience and the ability to remain calm in stressful situations.
 Housekeeping management refers to managing equipment and supplies, time and schedules and duties and chores of the housekeeping department.The workplace culture of pier one Sydney Harbour is generally relaxed and friendly with a picturesque view of Walsh bay,Harbour bridge abd Opera house.Housekeeping is a physical demanding job,so they have to work so hard and fast.
Housekeeping is a creative job,I like the variety of tasks that are a part of the job, and I feel a strong sense of purpose, satisfaction, and fulfillment knowing my work helps people enjoy their home environments.

I love working with ahs hospitality. They pay in time. Staff is very kind and friendly. I’m working in Pullman hotel Adelaide. In the interview we’ve been advised they pay high awarded rates on Saturday, Sunday and public holidays. But once I selected I’m able to work on Monday to Saturday. They didn’t give me to work on Saturdays yet. Today is Monday public holiday.Usually I’m working on Monday. I didn’t even got to work today as well. We are very willing to work work work. They give opportunity to work on Saturday Sunday and public holidays to old workers. As advised us in the interview we were very happy to joining with ahs hospitality. Five weekdays we are working with our utmost efforts and efficiency. We don’t think about pains and fatigue. We take it as in a positive manner. This is only my kind request. Distribute the working days equally to everyone. It will be great to influence to motivate new workers. I’m pretty sure They will work more enthusiastically then. 

Typical day at work: already love it but don't like the fact that I don't always know what time I'm gonna finish so it's difficult for me to do other plans. 
I learned about time management and how to be more efficient with this routine in particular.
Love the people from different cultures working with me.
Hardest part of the job is nasty rooms, some guest leave a real mess and time becomes more difficult to manage. Also, that pantries are never providing everything, so you waste lots of time changing level to get what you need: towels, sheets, water/milk, tea towels. Luckily there's a great team to provide help.
The most enjoyable part: people I work with and that lunch is provided.

Have been employed at ahs for 2 years as a houseman and I've seen management change 4 times in 2 years. Expectations are high especially the hotel managers expecting the world and for you to stop whatever it is your doing to complete there request first. 

If you are looking for a first job in room attending this company could be for you is quick and easy to get settled in get a couple days training and you guys are on your own cleaning rooms. 
Pay rate is below average for the work that we do and the days can be long but a minimum of 3 hours a day cleaning rooms, as a houseman and room attendant its a very physical job and your on your feet for the whole work day. 

Cleaning management have been nice all 4 of the different managers have had there unique ways of doing things and I have no issues with any of them. 

Had the worst working experience in my life. Employees have to sacrifice their safety to meet their unrealistic targets. You are expected to finish a whole room in 25 min which is impossible if u cant u are not paid for the extra time, Unfair and biased treatment by the supervisors and manager, lowest wage, the supervisors are always after u to find ur faults, they treat u very badly but never come forward if u need any help, No appreciation for good work. It is a great company NOT to work for

Flexible  working environment for students and part time workers. 

Direct communication mode between manager and workers.( manager is a good listener and therefore she takes all the workers suggestions into account).

Good supervision and training given to new employees.

Suggestion;
Employees with full time working visa also gets to work only equal number of hours to part time workers per day. Maybe this could be the reason why employees with full time working visa’s leave the organisation when they get full time jobs in other organisations. Other than this the working environment in Ahs is excellent.








It just doesn’t worth it. You do a lot of heavy work, it’s really hard - and you need to be super extra fast. They expect you to finish a room in 20 minutes, which is unrealistic especially for big rooms (and it doesn’t matter if you are new or old in this industry). They call you on days you weren’t supposed to be working, and blame it on you. 
The workers should be paid way more than they actually are, because they’re giving everything of themselves up there! And also, they should be treated with more kindness, they should be appreciated for the work they have been doing. I don’t get why all these hospitality companies are like that, but I’m pretty sure all of their workers deserved a better place/company to be working for.

A typical work day is to keep all common, client and staff areas perfectly clean and tidy, I have learned techniques to clean in less accessible and complicated places as well as techniques to make the job more efficient. The management of the manager is efficient and quick solutions, all the staff is polite and respectful, I consider that the most difficult part of the job is to keep mentally firm and organize my workplace, the most pleasant part of the job is that I give my support and collaboration to contribute to the tourism and economy of this hotel and in the same way my work is compensated.

The job it's okay.  Very flexible with the schedule, which is pretty good when you have another commitments. 

The management was great and most of the co-workers were friendly. 
The management door was always open to any job or personal request. They were always open to hear your feedback and your concerns which made me feel heard. 

The bad thing was the pressure on finishing the rooms in 22 min. Sometimes it felt like I couldn't have a snack or even use the bathroom because it would make me less "productive". 

The pay rate it's really low for such a big company, they will tell you "our pay rates are based on the hospitality fair rate" which it's true, but there are many jobs like this that have a better rate for sure.
