Good casual work if you’re not worried too much about how much hours you want per week. High turnover of service and care coordinator can be stressful. Like any organisation that is growing there’s always challenges. Training aren’t so bad at all and you get paid for it. Some coordinators are quick to assume that carer is at fault when things go wrong during service ( when communicating with carers). At times there’s no clear pathway on who to report with if there’s a concern with client. Pay is good ( for casual work). Client varies from easy to very hard. They have this matching “the carer skill to client’s needs”  way of providing support to clients which is good but the outcomes varies. We are only human after all so mismatched can happen sometimes. Flexibility of work will be based on client’s preferences of time they needed the service, be prepared to be called sometimes for urgent shift really early in the morning. They service a lot within inner north/northwest perth city/metro so very convenient for someone looking for care work that doesn’t want to drive 30 minutes from their home.  Lots of clients within stretch of Scarborough, Floreat, CityBeach, Dalkeith, and all nearby suburbs. Clients are beautiful and main reason why sometimes despite some challenges you will find yourself happy continuously working with them ( HomeInstead/Dovida). For young workers or have families and needing stable income, casual position with unstable hours might not be for you. For non- trained carers or no experienced but has a caring personality, good heart and willing to learn attitude, they ( HoneInstead/Dovida) are very good and willing to take you in and train you how to be a professional carer.

Providing help and support to clients.

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Despite my years of previous experience, spent 3 years not getting enough shifts to get off Newstart Payment, so had to job search the entire time. 
Favouritism. Some staff getting plenty of shifts, some not enough.
Isolation, staff meetings finished immediately after agenda items, never any time to get to know co-workers.
If you took leave, your regular shifts were usually given away to co-workers.

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Isolating, uncaring, management dismissed requests for fairness with shift allocations.

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Isolating, unsupported. If you had a problem with a client out in the community no help was available.

A lovely company to work for. I had never done home care before but I love this job. The company will do their best to accommodate your needs and fit around your lifestyle. There is always someone to listen and prepared to work through any difficulties you may have regarding to work. Training is always up to date and if you feel you need a refresher course, they are willing to do so. The hardest part of the job as with any care job, is when a client has to move into a home or pass on.

As a carer you will always see the same clients regularly.  This enables you to build a relationship both with the client and their family.

The office team are very friendly, approachable and supportive.

They offer benefits after having worked a set amount of hours.

 I have learned how to use app and can have input about job discription before I accept a new client.
Work remotely and job information delivered by mob app.

Management attitude absolutely stinks, they know how to cheat the system to get the best clients and the pay for caregivers is shocking compared to the amount of money they charge clients. I would never recommend anyone to work here

My time at HomeInstead gave me a lot of experience to work in the aged care sector.
The company was supportive and always available to assist anytime .

Management is mean and rude to caregivers. Will get ticked off if you are sick and need to call out. I would avoid this place if I were you. Also will talk about you when you leave the office

This is a good place to work all round. The staff are very helpful and communication is fantastic. I rate very highly and don't hesitate to recommend for employment here.
