I worked there for a couple of months and wouldn't recommend it to anyone. Terrible pay, limited shifts unless you are friends with the right people. You spend very little time with the dogs, just to take them out to holding areas to clean, then bring them back. Even dog walks are limited to the property so like 10 minute walk. You are constantly moving at a fast pace to get things done by 3pm, because you don't get paid past this, not even sure if this is legal. Finish time will depend on other workers, some are lazy, or careless. I was traveling up from Wollongong not worth the commute for 15 hours a week. Felt sorry for the dogs on cramped conditions with no interaction 

I have worked in the animal industry for many years and always knew I would want to work with dogs, however after not even a year of working here, I want to leave the animal industry for good! Staff are not welcoming will leave to chat with co workers while they leave you with all the work, they have their own cliques already and are NOT accepting any one else so you will be excluded, given no guidance and will gossip about how uselsss you are (even if you are still in training)

They over book stays and illegally have multiple pets in one kennel!

Very toxic, higher management only care about money they don’t care about you or the animals needs 

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Cleaning cages 
Bathing dogs
Feeding 
Washing etc

An absolutely awful work environment. Always short of staff, very physically demanding, way too many dogs for the amount of space. From the amount of time I was there I had seen multiple staff come and go. 

The only good thing about it is working with animals but you rarely get to spend time with them as all you are doing in moving them in and out of kennels to clean.

It was my first animal attendant job so wish I knew better but stay away for your sanity

This job pays reasonably. The actual work is great but management lets this organisation down. Irrespective of the title a person holds, they should always be treated with respect by upper management.  They also need to follow through with commitments and promises made to staff.  

It’s a great place to work if you love animals . Although management and supervisors and a portion of co workers treat other staff horrible . I noticed a lot of bullying / talking behind backs occurring. Staff are over worked in peak periods and no work life balance. 

Highly emotive industry requiring constant attention to detail and priority to pet welfare and owners expectation. An environment that requires constant staff motivation and empowerment.

I've worked in the animal industry for many years, Hanrob stands out as it's staff and management are fantastic! The management team understand staff and animal needs.

If you love your cats & dogs its a great place however management and strict budgets make it stressful in the long term and that stress goes straight from management to the workers and workers to the animals, which is sad.

I loved working at Hanrob. Management is amazing. The workers are all so nice, inclusive and helpful. I enjoyed all the time I spent at Hanrob and the only reason I left was due to me going on a gap year. I would 100% recommend this job to everyone.
