A typical day at work, being on time 15 minutes early. Setting up the coffee machine and setting up co-workers chair for there next clients. Calling up to confirm appointment,cutting up foil and helping with retail while still having to heap the shop tidy and organised. 

I must say being in the Hair Industry it was always on the go and busy. Especially having Retail and making sure costumers were left with happy results and able to make sure also that they got there moneys worth.
It's about being organised and confident in what you are doing. Being an apprentice they wont hesitate to chuck you in the deep end.

My co-workers were good and helped me along the way of learning about hair, made it less stressful. 
The hardest part i must say was all of the above.. But having to something on a clients hair for the first time was the scariest. But also Making coffees, setting costumers up, helping with retail and also making sure the the shop was clean and organised. But I must say putting myself in a routine with it all was better. 

The most enjoyable part of the job i must say was being able to do color and connect with my costumers. For them to appreciate what i did for them was a blessing.

Working on a day to day basis is stressful 1 day your so busy you have no time for a break others you are standing around doing nothing because it's been so quiet you have cleaned every inch of the store.
Terrible wage, imaginary hierarchy between management, unsupportive enviorment at times.
Having to ask for payslips. Called constantly accusing of things not being done when they have been. No clear policy on returns, warranty. Not catering to audience customers charging $70 for a trim in a low income area. Reprimanded by head office for not having 10/10 hair and makeup or wearing sneakers instead of flats because your feet hurt from standing all day.

Yes I have a great time working with my coworkers and customers but there is so much bad stuff that happens that can easily be avoided and there is little to no training on products in store I mean please people help us out and also when there is emails being sent out to customers about sales let the stores know at least.

Let me start by saying every store is individually owned. That is a huge part of why hairhouse is a disaster in my experience. I was there for 5 years. Promised over that course of time job opportunities into managment. Never happened. I had sunday tuesday off even after i legally gave my 4 weeks notice of consent ending for non consecutive days. Management was no existent. No support from head office. My owner had no idea what she was doing not once did head office step in in a way that actually helped. Staff was great until they left and my boss hired on the rudest most lazy girls i have ever met. Pay was horrible with no commision or christmas bonus. Mot even a christmas dinner! Honestly it was a nightmare.I stayed for so long because i loved my clients.

long, slow and filled with endless gossip and rumors about other staff within the company, poor management and an expectation to work overtime if someone calls in sick, even if youve worked 8-9 days in a row. Management has allowed this toxic culture to fester and does little about it, while partaking in the gossip themselves. 
Many store locations are like this, as the Head office of the company itself is filled with this behaviour and as a result they have one of the largest staff turnover rates in retail, in NSW.

My experience with Hairhouse so far has been great. From recruitment, to onboarding, to the role itself, I have felt supported each step of the way and felt that I was working with a group of people similar to me in terms of values and work ethic. The workload is reasonable and the development opportunities are openly discussed. Feedback is provided regularly both formally and informally, and the structures and communication mean you know the importance of your role and how you contribute to the overall business strategy and goals.

Managing at Hairhouse warehouse for the past 2 and a half years has taught me to be patient and understanding. we have a great team and not to mention our boss is an amazing and generous person who I could go to for support at any time. We have a salon and retail department and my job was to oversee the two areas, making surety where running smoothly, be onto of orders and stock levels as well as dealing with any issues. A pleasant place to work since day one.The staff where great and an absolute joy to manage with very few if any problems. We all enjoyed a laugh and loved to give advice to our clients and help them with all there hair needs.

While working at Hairhouse Warehouse I would stock shelves, sweep and vacuum the floors, make tea and coffee for the customers, wash the towels, clean the mirrors and chairs, dust the shelves and worked the till.
My co-workers were very friendly and hard working, they were very helpful if I had any questions. They explained the tasks I had to do so that I would understand straight away.
There was nothing that I really struggled with, I found it pretty easy.
The most enjoyable part of the job was getting to work with the customers and being able to help them and make their day.

Typical day consists of prioritise which project to work on- this could be half day between 2 projects or 1 full project. meetings with internal departments if required.

Every day is a learning day as there are many processes to work through and assess and alter when needed.

hardest part of job is at moment not having project deadlines. this is hard for me as i need deadlines so i can better manage my time working on projects.

i find it enjoyable to collaborate with others to gain their thoughts on all things.




Not that this applies to all franchises but the ones that I worked at the owner(s)  took advantage of the loyalty of their staff, didn't pay them their proper entitlements, constantly degraded staff in front of the team, expected the staff to lie to the customer and questioned their right to have time off/sick leave etc.
They also have a habit of forgetting to keep up-to-date with the super. My review would have been a lot different if I had been treated fairly and given incentives for the amount of work and garbage  I had to put up with.

Took ages to actually start the job and to sign everything despite being there almost everyday.
Never actually really learnt much.
Most of the staff seemed really drained which worried me and almost every conversation was about how they were treated badly and didn’t want to stay there,They also would stand around a lot and leave to get drinks especially the older members and managers never seemed to care until the younger ones did it.
