Groove Train

I started when the store opened during Christmas period so it was very busy and training was minimal so all staff were very under the pump with no help or motivation from management. I was made to feel unwelcome from management and always felt I had a target on my back. During January, the restaurant became virtually empty and they couldn't give staff the 20 hours they were contracted any week. So they sacked a lot of staff to reduce staff costs. I was sacked over the phone, with the manager claiming it was because I did stuff that I didn't. Even after I was sacked, I had to chase payslips and pay for ages. Avoid at all costs! I've never seen worse management than at The Groove Train

A typical days work at Groove Train consisted of being completely understaffed. Full house would be in by 7pm, tables pumping orders. Waiters and waitresses would have 30 or so tables to look after.
Tip jar goes straight to management and not one floor staff sees a cent of the tips.
The people who work at Groove Train are great! We would all come together in harmony over how much we loathed our jobs and the place we worked.
I think the hardest part of the job was that not only did management treat us like we were nothing, but the customers were a rude crowd as well.

if you want to work somewhere where you get underpaid, tips only going to the bosses not shared out, no breaks when busy, get sent home when quiet, treated like s*** if you're not the same ethnicity as the bosses (Italian/greek), bosses against lgbt workers/customers then this is the job for you.

it’s an okay place to work enjoyable at times and good pay for casuals but terrible management and no job security even as a part timer threats you will get fired and they over work you with no breaks you also might be working over 6 hours with no break i would not recommend working here as it’s very unfair place to work and the only good thing is the staff members at times 

management would punish staff if they made any mistakes, even minor ones. would humiliate them in front of other staff and customers and then give them reduced hours (once i didn't send out entre and mains separately and was given one shift a week for a month after, even after the customers were unbothered by the mistake). would also be expected to know why you were being punished and when you would ask about it you would be treated like an idiot.

a typical day for me was I signed in usually got 15 minutes early had a bite to eat, started my shift cleaning drying and packing dishes while chatting to my fellow co workers made my day be more enjoyable while getting the job done. work culture was good, good people with great personalities, I learned as this was my first job that everything takes time and its a huge step in the work place makes you work harder.

its what you'd expect from working in hospitality fast paced work environment. Pretty much always on the go especially on weekends or events. Training provide through modules expected to learn pretty fast. Management can be poor and have an impact on the work culture. 

I really enjoyed my time at the Groove Train. The environment there was completely relaxed and supportive. I never felt uncomfortable or inadequate because of my co workers. They were all so kind and supportive. I also appreciate that they viewed individuality in a positive light. Piercings, tattoos and coloured hair were almost encouraged.

I worked at groove train chirnside park for 4 months and found management rude and often abusive . Older manager used repulsive language and young manager was ok but didn’t Care when I burnt myself . Told me to go home because I was slack . Very poor management  skills. No wonder most staff leave after a few months

Groove Train is a cool place to dine at with family and friends. Both Staff and Food are great lol. My co-workers are easy-going, a little rough when it's busy, but overall they are great and very helpful people especially the management team.
