Absolutely fantastic work environment, the supported staff (disabled team members) were always a dream, really hard workers who could always make you smile. No issues with management and a totally relaxed environment compared to other retail locations.
On a day to day the hardest part of your job is customers expecting you to know the full details of everything in your store, despite the very nature of the store being that anything and everything can be found there. You would also be surprised by the amount of times used underwear gets donated. 

Only major downside is the lack of available hours for part timers. I had to work at three different stores just to make a somewhat liveable income and ended up leaving due to further hour cutbacks.

The customers, participants and amazing people it's a great family feel

 We are pushed at times to the limit having few staff to assist with the workload.

We have a happy work place, head office is always looking for ways to improve our workplace

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Busy, everyday is different

Directing and supporting our participants, creating a positive and rewarding day.

Assisting clients with their activities in their home or the workplace.
It is a challenging experience developing ways to assist clients on an 
individual basis.
It's difficult to get help/guidance/feedback from those in charge/management.
Immense job satisfaction helping others.

Overall, working with GSI was a pleasant experience. My work was valued and taken seriously and managers/coordinators were helpful at all times. However, when work dried up communication was lacking and I was allowed simply to drift away and disappear. This was sad and unfortunate because GSI is a good outfit for which to work.

Really friendly staff and work culture. Always appreciating help and treat their worker well. Lots of work to be effectively done. They have a working system that they are always improving. Highly recommend volunteering or working their. With their goal to help disable really attracts the most amazing people.

I worked with 7 other employee's. 4 with mild disabilities.
Fun work place with supportive management.
I offered several incentives for workers productivities.
Most enjoyable was the people I worked with.
No work was too hard.
Always gave 110%

Working with and supporting people with differing levels of abilities.
This can be a rewarding career, some times a bit challenging, but full filling.

It was very busy and everyday was something different which I liked most about the job.The most challenging part of the job was keeping/or employeeing quality mentor workers.

I love it so much lots to do every day the best to help and train people with disabilities 
And also the customer service and chatting to customers great place to work 

A great social enterprise with a nubile purpose and a great culture. An inclusive organisation with a wonderful mission dedicated  to help people leaving with disabilities.
