Been in this company for nearly a year now and it has like any other new venture, can be challenging, but what I like is the managers I work with are very open to new ideas and willing to make changes. It is very fast pace - that is there are many projects on at once and you have to work with so many different groups to complete your project which can be difficult when they have their own agendas. Many projects overlap each other in the business so you have learn to prioritize and be patient.  If you manage this you will be successful and your role will be enjoyable. In my department we promote work life balance so I can work from home which seem to be more productive for my national role.

On the surface, Gate has a great vibe. It seems like a very friendly and positive place to work. It very quickly turns toxic and clicks. Nobody is trustworthy, they would all throw anyone under to get ahead, especially management. They act like your mates but use any information against you. The people who were holding the place together have now all been broken by the toxicity and left. Instead of fixing things and holding onto great staff, the powers that be preferred to hold onto their egos. Department managers have no clue what they're doing, they can't hold onto staff due to how unorganised and back stabbing they are. They're happy to cut corners, even if it means poisoning someone. If you love chaos and drama, you'll fit right in. Just watch your back. 

a day at work is a 3am start and normally 1230pm finish but it can sometimes go 1 -3 hours over the finish time , as the airline industry is not predictable
i have learned to prioritize to get things done in the time frame needed
management need to be a little more supportive morell wise
the hardest part of my job is switching my thinking from dispatch to driving a truck to checking off the meals in the fridge before going to the plane,( this happens a bit in this job and at a moments notice.)
most enjoyable part of the job is some of the people that have been there from the day it started and the stories they have to tell.

A global organisation but poorly managed in Australia by an ex competitor's management team who have brought their heavy baggage and bad management style to Gate Gourmet! Arrogant MD who only talks about himself.
A toxic place to work where people in meetings are just there to save their backsides and throw everyone under the bus. This includes the so called 'Leadership Team'. Embedded blame culture which is so deep rooted, it may never be removed. Join them if you are prepared to leave your soul at the door as you walk in to work everyday.

I learned every facet of my role and carried out my duties to the best of my ability. I was primarily hired as a payroll administrator, a role which I have extensive experience in. However, the operational requirements of the time were for Airside Drivers. As I have a HR Truck Licence, I was engaged to undergo training in airside catering, a critical role for the company. I was always pleased to be employed in whatever capacity I was required in. I carried out my job with due diligence and a firm commitment to Safe and Accountable Workplace Practices.

Very demanding but fun industry to work in.
Management are very supportive and the culture is varied.

The hardest part of the job is ensuring goods are delivered in full and on time as to not impact our customer experience.

The most enjoyable part of the job is the fast pace in which we work and the rewards that come from that which is customer satisfaction.

The company weren't prepared to train us properly in the correct department after hiring a bunch of people which they later on had to fire a few of us for really stupid reasons among many they had to downsize there team. At times a few of us had to go home an hour after starting our shift because too many people were rostered on.

It was a nice and friendly environment, Management team and staff are enthusiastic, kind and friendly. 
I had two months work experience in the gate gourmet,  good job and find how really the working people are...

I learnt a lot hot to deal with workers and dealing with issues and troubleshooting....

A typical day would be busy day like other day - stock taking and filling the stock and loading and offloading from Sydney train.

But a team works together to finish off the task - everyday 7/8 times loading and offloading. You have to be very fast since the Trains received fined if they overstay in the platform more than their given times.

I would not recommend anyone to work for them. Managers mirco managed by managers. People making decisions that have no idea. Staff member retired after 26 years of employment. They gave him a certificate for this service.
