An overarching comment is all that is required to summarise my experience working for the Fraser Coast Regional Council from my perspective. I found all interactions with management professional, relaxed, timely and anything agreed upon took place as agreed. They were a very respectful, responsible and professional employer that backed me as and when needed. I worked very independently in my role and was fully able to do so with very minimal interference. But, I always knew I had their full support and my management were always available to discuss any matters I wanted to raise or bounce ideas off. In summary an excellent employer in my varied career roles across three industries.

What is the best part of working at the company?
In my experience there was no best part in the area in which I was employed and the rest of thestaff in the building knew it.

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
The bulllying and ongoing harassment.

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
It was unique in that it always felt awkward and was toxic and difficult all of the time. 

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Extremely difficult  unfriendly secretive  critical no procedures to work by and no assistance.

You will accept a job and then find your actual role is nothing like what you signed up for.
You will spend your days running about doing your job plus the 20 other roles you have been allocated due to poor resourcing.
You will re-do work multiple times due to “management changes”, get it just perfect and then be advised that the work is redundant due to “ changed priorities”.
Councillors act like preschoolers and interfere with operational functions & priorities.
Management and HR section will lie to your face without batting an eyelid

Wonderful environment to volunteer..I enjoy doing exhibition installation and really like being behind the scenes and revealing to the public exceptional gallery events.

Enjoyed working here more than almost any place I've worked previously in past 20 years. Excellent boss, workmates, pay and benefits and 9-day fortnight was an excellent work incentive. Professional environment that looked after its employees.Miss working here.

I had a fantastic time working for Council and gained a lot of experience. Supervisors were friendly and accommodating to work/family balance. I met many people from different departments and they were always welcoming and friendly.

I was working for the dole for 6 months planting trees mowing grass planting all different sorts of plants, and operating whipper snipper and watering the plants .

Having had close on 40 years involvement with LG at various levels, there appeared to be problems with management at some levels.

I really like working for the council because you learn a lot and work with other co workers they help you out a lot. and give you a guild, and be more respect for other people
