After years of disjointed operations, poor leaders and over spending on central support functions FB have got their act together - and are doing some great things.

Leaders who know how to get the most out of people, listen, engage and take feedback on-board. This happening in the past 12-18 months though as their has been a change of personnel in key leadership positions across FB's businesses.

They've gone from a company of rewarding and promoting those who have been there the longest - to those who perform and acheive. And for me this was rewarded with continued responsibility, growth in development and financial reward.

The only real downside from my time was that their IT 'help' desk internal and external support were well below the required standard. There are a few good senior IT PM's within the company but everything seems to take a long time to achieve what is standard practice in complex matrix organisations in the UK or Europe.

a typical day was dealing with the public & your mojor contractors in regards to concrete orders & delivereys or giving advice on other products & producing concrete.I learned that with the right attatude and a willingness to learn new skills you were able to make advancement within the company,Management left me alone as i was reaching all my targets in regards to the plants planned operationl performance consistent with the area annual operating plan.Co workers were a joy to work with as i am a person that leads by example & hold a lot of respect as i started at the bottom & worked hard to became plant supervisor ,worked with one co worker for 18 years.The hardest part of the job was taking your work home with you etc ph,computer & dealing with the public. The most enjoyable was the people you work with & the challange of the bigger pours getting trucks out on time and getting the job completed & contractors ringing you to thank you for making their job easy.

What is the best part of working at the company?
Fletcher Building have a diverse portfolio which made the work varied and interesting. However, how they treat employees is shocking and tarnished my whole experience of working for them

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
My treatment at the hands of senior management

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
The work environment was good on the whole, but the way they treat staff made the culture toxic.

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
BUSY. Some roles seem to be extremely busy, the more work you take on the more they will give you. However, others seem to deliver very little

Had the pleasure of working with a great team. Made it pleasant to go to work each day. 
Unfortunately a recent restructuring of the organisation saw several people made redundant, including myself. Would have been ok if I hadn’t only just joined the organisation and was 9 months into the role.

Fun work environment, I learned a lot about glasswool and how it is needed in the building industry, there wasn’t really anything hard about the job, it is pretty easy if everyone just works as a team, most enjoyable part would be the conversations and jokes with the workmates

I had an excellent rapport with my Manager, my Peers and my Customers. 
I very much enjoyed my work at Fletcher Building.
I left this wonderful job because of my acquired medical conditions

Fletcher building is a great company where manager back there employees. Fletcher building has many great benefits including discounted share schemes. Also many companies under this banner allows for progression

The most difficult aspect was the culture, far too many people looking after their own reputations vs. working together to get goals etc. completed and rolled out.

Former employee the 40 hour week Don't follow the (Clerical award of 38 hour no RDOS ) need to be taken to Fair work Australia to confirm and all staff: warehouse staff are under the Award

Everyday is different and challenging loads of people and lots of travel. Good management team and consistent training. good working culture.
