What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
At my time at Ferguson Plarre I enjoyed the work but managers made this job a nightmare. The upper management at Ferguson Plarre are some of the rudest people I’ve ever met and should never have been given their positions. They have no idea what it’s like to actually work in a store which makes working at a store a worse experience. 

They have no respect for any staff, they talk rudely about their employees behind their back and make passive aggressive comments. They do not take well to any issues bought up by their staff and will not make you feel unwelcome at work. 

Store managers are no better. So many of my fellow staff were bought to tears by the store manager.

Overall as much as I loved the team I got to work with the experience was soured by poor management.

i don’t know if it was just my experience but worked there for a two months give or take and found it so be very taxing. managers that were very rude and weren’t constructive, would blame me for things that the other employees did and i didn’t do just because i was new. i took the heat on a lot of stuff. both the managers were rude and were more focused on boosting sales than they were on creating a welcoming and encouraging work environment. one of the managers made me work nearly an hour and a half after the store closed and made me clean the whole store by myself and told me i was the problem because i wasn’t being fast enough. also stopped rostering me with no notice. the pay was not enough for what you get out through. also the food isn’t even that great so.

What is the best part of working at the company?
Team members make the job great. There’s also a variety of things to do so it’s never boring. 

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
When it gets busy it can be a bit stressful. Especially the coffee side of the business

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Fantastic. Everyone knows their job and all pitch in and help. If a job needs doing it gets done. We have a great team and work well together. 

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Relatively stress free. It has its busy periods but we generally know when they are. We have certain times jobs are to be done by so it helps a lot.

Do yourself a favor and do NOT work for a franchised store under Ferguson Plarre. 
They do not follow any company procedures and run the store as if they can do whatever they desire - Treat staff unfairly, do not pay you for any overtime, minimum wage etc. You do not have any support from the company if you are employed under a franchise. 

If you're lucky enough to work for a company store, you will be treated fairly and paid for the time you work. You will also have support from the company and everything will be done legally.

Typical day at work is serving customers at register, selling cakes, hot savoury foods and serving tables. I will often close the store with one or two others as well. The management is a bit up and down sometimes, at times i would find it hard to get help. The overall culture of the work place is happy and lovely. The hardest part of the job is trying to do all the tasks at once, such as take coffee orders, serve people who are purchasing pies and/or cakes as well as running tables and coffees. The best part of my job is the interaction with the customers.

I was employed for a month and was barely trained to do the jobs required. The manager expected me to know everything and would berate me for being slow. I was even yelled at for not turning up to a shift because they had changed the schedule, and the manager wouldn't even look at my messages to explain the problem. Since I was employed as a casual, they stopped giving me shifts and fully removed me from the job without any notice. The staff were always aloof and did not seem happy to deal with new employees either. 

Amazing co-workers however the amount of work is stressful as it is very fast paced and is a small area to work in. Currently is under-staffed due to Christmas so is even more stressful for workers. Managers are getting stressed out as well which is not a good sign.

The job is enjoyable and customers wonderful to deal with. Manager does not make staff feel valued or cared for at all - very quick to point out mistakes but will not praise for a job well done.

Understanding about hours available to work and and no pressure to take more than you are able to commit to which is great.

Love the company, Steve Plarre is wonderful just not a fan of this franchisee

This was my work experience period, and it usually involved washing dishes and collecting empty plates and cups as well as taking out orders.

The people were very friendly, and I think the hardest thing for me was not being able to fully grasp that experience. I wanted to learn more, but failed to express that so I didn't gain that whole experience.

The enjoyable part though was watching the workers interact with each other, it was very amusing.

Working at ferguson plarre was great, i had many co-workers i could talk to. Always had something to do. I learned how to make coffees. The management was ok could definitely could be improved they didn't treat all there workers the same. A typical day would include serving customers depending on the time i started. or cleaning and setting up the store or cleaning up and packing up the store. making coffees
