As someone who has worked at a handful of centres over the last 14 years, I can honestly say that Explore and Develop in Leichhardt is a centre that makes you feel like it’s a ‘forever workplace.’ 

The hard and stressful parts of working in the childcare industry feels so much easier to handle when you have bosses that actually care about you as a person, not just an employee. The centre has a very “family” vibe, a team of educators who all mesh well together, and a beautiful centre - what more could you ask for in a childcare job!  

And although these things should just be a given in early childhood education services (but unfortunately often aren’t), staff are given ample off the floor programming time, paid well, regular rdos and access to mental health support services.

The culture and values of the company are upheld and they strive for quality of care and education of children

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
I haven’t found a particularly stressful thing. Maybe the fact that staffing across the sector is adding stress to services collectively

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Amazing. Huge focus on best practice and striving for excellence

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Supporting services in their strive for excellence. Different everyday, but it is to increase quality of practice and existing exceeding qualities.

What is the best part of working at the company?
Everything,management, educators, families. 

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Nothing,that place was awsome. 

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Friendly,respectful, learning environment. 

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Good,awsome,nice everyone was supportive.

A very welcoming centre where I felt at home. I learnt a lot and was able to complete my diploma and ECT with the support of management. 
Being a close group of educators gossip can occur however this is most centres. Staff are well looked after by management, they are appreciated through small gifts, morning teas and social gatherings.

Room to grow, supportive management, amazing culture and meeting wonderful people.
Hardest part is documentation which is part of the whole industry that can lead to stress and miss out on spending quality time with children. 
Management actually listens to feedback and the level of support and appreciation is spectacular 

The service was well established with a focus on exceptional educator for the child in care. The service was large and even though it was a for profit centre, the centre was well resources and the children had qualified educators and a strong emphasis on quality educational practices.

A place of high quality education delivery. The company offers continued training and support to employees and contractors as well acknowledgement of the work delivered. Decision are always at the customers/ staff best interest. It has a very mature management team.

This childcare company is fantastic, however as i am only a casual no work is guaranteed. When i am called into work i take on a range of responsibilities working with a range of age groups. I complete correct documentation and planning for the day as well as leading some rooms, when filling in for the room leader.

Fast paced, no discrimination, high work ethics and standards but management can be better. The work load is stressful, staff turnover is high (whole industry) and no encouragement whatsoever from the company. Physically and mentally demanding 

The centre management team was great the first few years, then it changed. Unfortunately I did not have a great experience once the change happened. Blatant nepotism and disregard of staff with many years of experience
