Eagle Boys

On a typical day you come in to work, clock in usually with a delivery waiting for you. If so, you pack a bag with the pizza and side orders and go on the delivery. Otherwise, you stay in store and help fold boxes, sweep, prepare sauces and ingredients for the night ahead. The whole shift is a mixture of deliveries, phone orders and front counter orders.

In the time I've been in the job, I've learned the value of efficiency more than anything: employers demand professionalism, which I highly respect and aspire to.

Management at Eagle Boys were relaxed and friendly, but also ran a tight ship with great results all round and a quality product to show for it.

Most of my coworkers were extremely friendly and personable, and didn't mind the occasional chat (when things were slow in store). There were heaps of cool get-togethers organised by management and I really valued the time getting to know everyone at the store.

The hardest part of the job is definitely technological: the interface used to take orders is awkward and it can get stressful taking someone's order when the system is malfunctioning.

The most enjoyable part of the job is the fact that, even on a close shift (long hours), you feel like you're spending the time with genuine friends. On account of this the hours fly by.

I would usually arrive a few minutes before my shift to ensure that I am not late. I make about 300-400 pizza boxes a night as well as fill the drinks fridge. I am the first person a customer interacts with and the first person a customer comes to with a complaint or problem. With a kind and approachable manner, the customers I serve generally leave happy with the efficient and smooth process.
I have trained a few of my co-workers on customer service and they have found the training to be useful and simple. 
The hardest part of the job is dealing with customers who feel they are not satisfied with their experience and wish to take their frustration out on customer service. This isn't a usual occurrence so for the most part, work is an enjoyable experience.
The most enjoyable part of the job is the group cohesiveness the Eagle Boys team has, a few co-workers have become friends to me and that has encouraged my other friends to also take a position at Eagle Boys.
Eagle Boys has a friendly, relaxed environment and serves as a excellent first job or career. I will miss working as part of the Eagle Boys team but I look forward to the possibilities of a new part-time job.

I believe that working at Eagle Boys Logan Central is a bad move for anyone, unless they wish for their rights to not be adhered to. The work itself is not bad and the management, at first, seems fine. I was quite happy working there until I learned I had been under an agreement for almost a year, and asked for a copy. When a few months had gone by without the agreement I asked again and the owner saw fit to ask his manager to suspend my shifts, and she told me, "we're going to have to put your employment on hold until you agree to the agreement" (possible paraphrasing, written from memory). Because of this action, I found the agreement online and discovered there were various things my employer should have been doing but hasn't ever done, like paying for 10 minute rest breaks during shifts, instead of deducting 15 minutes and providing a pizza... which is illegal. I also believe the actions listed above and more by the manager show poor managerial skills from both the owner and the manager. 

These matters and more are being taken to the fair work commission, but I have lost shifts for doing this and standing up for my rights. I am down to one shift a week and looking for better employment for a company that is willing to adhere to the rights of their employees from the beginning.

A typical day at work depends on whether you get a day shift or a night shift. If you get a day shift, you're lucky! You make dough all day and prepare the shop for the people who will be on after you for the night shift. You generally start at about 11:00am, and will finish just as the shop starts to get busy, at around 4 or 5:00pm.

I learned how to use a till, how to use phone etiquette and how to deal with customers. There is possibility of promotion to a manager if you're the right candidate too.

The hardest part of this job was quite often the team work. You work with a lot of different people, some are reliable, and others not so much. The function of a pizza shop really does rely a lot on team work and it makes it super difficult, especially if you are not a manager, to get your team moving and working together.

The most enjoyable part of the job was getting free pizza if a customer didn't collect their order!

At eagle boys, each day i manage the store, with more than 2 staff on, you clean, prepare for the next day and serve customer with an enthusiastic attitude, always keeping a smile on your face. I have learned  a lot of things over the 5 years i have been at eagle boys, i have obtained high management skills, i complete on daily bases, managing the staff, complete daily HACCP, prepping and cleaning for the next day, counting the cash at the end of the night, filling in nightly figure trackers, stock take and orders. The management and co-workers are all nice and caring, the management time does get quite stressful, but we usually let them outside to calm down for 5, as a hospitality business this does happen. the hardest part of the job is the stress levels that come with this job especially being apart of the management team, and the most enjoyable part is that i am good at what i do and i do love the staff i work with.

At 16 years old completing my Year 10 Exams I was faced with 4pm-10/11pm days almost every single weekday and 11am-10/11pm days on weekends and when questioned about it my boss refused to change it. My managers were lovely though head management being our store owner was ridiculous. The co-workers were average, some good some bad but that can be expected. I had worked for this company before but at a different location and was shocked at the way this owner handled the business. He underpaid his staff, didn't pay penalty rates for Saturday or Sunday and did not pay public holiday rates even when questioned about it. The hardest part of the job was putting up with the terrible boss though sticking it out until I no longer could. The most enjoyable part was the good staff and the regular customers who would just put a smile on your face.

*Prep , set up till , open , more prep as well as making pizzas, working with school age staff , counter orders , phone orders , internet orders , deliveries , all to a required time frame - very challenging . wash up , clean store , close , balance takings .
*Prioritise , delegate , stay calm.
*Very supportive  by phone , not readily available face to face.
*Mostly school age from 14 to 16 . 
*Producing orders in the time frame required  and encouraging staff to take responsibility for their positions.
*Closing the doors on "Cheap Tuesday " when orders seemed to never stop coming in and I would wonder how it was all going to happen , and everything did , with customers happy , time frames met , staff , exhausted , but happy , good taking to make the boss happy , and best of all , after such a night , ....  the cash balanced to an acceptable amount !!!!

Bella and Berry Reynolds were lovely people to work for, always gave me plenty of shifts, always relied on me to fill in for other staff, and gave me the responsibilities of supervisor and manager at 16/17 yrs old. However they liked to employe the younger teenagers, which was very frustrating at times because they either couldn't keep pace, prioritize or time manage themselves. My wage was nothing I could live on, I wasn't rewarded different rates for supervisor shifts, only paid for 2hrs on a Monday to do the admin things for only a few dollars extra. And I put in alot of my own time on my days off to pick up and drop off things to other stores. This I was never rewarded for.

Some days it was boring to work if you were on during the day. If you worked late afternoon/night that's when it was better. Our night time manager was always fun aswell. Eagle boys is a family environment, as in everyone got along with everyone and we were all just family. I think the most hardest part about working at eagle boys was when it was a cheap tuesday and going from cutting to tills and back again aswell as at the same time dealing with customers when they had a problem. The most enjoyable part about working there would have to be at the end of the night when only a few people were working still and the cleaning up. the manager knew how to have fun.

Eagle Boys was generally a pleasant place to work as far as fast food restaurants go.

A typical day at work would be from 3 - 4 hours on selected nights which would include; serving customers, answering phones, handling money, getting pizzas from the oven and into their boxes, general cleaning.

I learned good customer service skills and how to work in a team environment. The co-workers where generally quite pleasant to be around making it a welcoming place to be.

The hardest part of the job would be getting pizza's out of the hot oven.

The part I most enjoyed was serving customers at the front counter.
