EVERHARD INDUSTRIES

A typical day at work was clocking in and being assigned to a machine or workplace to start shift. I learned how to use various tools and operate different machinery every week. Co-workers were supportive at times although the training provided was very poor. The hardest part of the job was working within the culture of the company which had a poor communication within a team being a new and "casual" worker. The most enjoyable part of the job was clocking out with the time sheets and going home.

Shift workers are never really treated like we should, we get undercut and still expect to run to capacity, The pay rate for an operator is almost similar to the same pay rate of a 2IC and Shift Supervisor in the cents value. Although they have more and more work day in and day out.

I've been at Everhard for a while now and all I can say is that it's a Job with no Frills. There are lots of good workers who get shafted, they don't get the recognition for the work completed, Some of the management will help you out others don't give you the time of day, which is sad as they are trying to change the culture here but aren't getting anywhere. If it wasn't a fulltime job I would of left years ago. Here's hoping things start changing for the better soon. No to very little in house promotions

After leaving Golden Circle in January' 2005 I joined EverHard in February of the same year. Within six months  I advanced to shift supervisor where I stayed for five years. After which I resigned as supervisor and preferd to be an operator although when I was called on I would also supervise.

I was the only mechanic there so I was left alone to do my job and was always supported by management. If I needed help with anything there was always someone willing to lend a hand.

Every day you would be working with a different machine never the same you have a quota to obtain with your product for those shifts so you have to meet your KPI's being in a manufacturing environment keeps you very busy and alert in this industry

Loved my job as truck driver, delivering to all parts of south east queensland - talking with the plumbers and trade depots.

worked my way through the factory and every division, before becoming a truck driver.

Fun,enjoyable workplace,excellent communications between co-workers and management. Skills in machine operating. All job tasks easily achieved and met within a deadline.

Happily employed until company closed the Sunshine Coast operation, was ofered relocation to Brisbane but was unable to leave SUnshine Coast
