just did 20 months at wheatstone for ertech.i was very well looked after.everything was in place for you all you had to do was go to work each day fit for work in doing so you were treated very well. there was a lot of rules and regulations but that's the job.you only had to do your task the correct way and safely.the way you have been trained to do.it was great working with mates . more like a family looking out for each other. we all would  discuss with           each other at any given time if something wasent right or refer to the jha or if need contact supervisor to confirm anything to be 100 percent sure.if we had a new starter we would allways make them welcome and help in any way we could. in are crew  all 100 percent  fully motivated and mind on the job.you are well paid so you need to give your best.never mind if the job is boring or really good you must achieve the same results no injurys good tidy job for the client. no plant damage adhere to ohs go home the way you go to work fit and well.and sometimes a pat on the back was well received.. one thing I forgot to say never be frighten to speak up never walk past something wrong take ownership or report it.we had many different tasks around the plant some tight areas some big open spaces no matter what I did I enjoyed it and when I left my job I told my bosses how much I had enjoyed it. and I made many freinds

Was a pleasure to work for Ertech good company to work for looked after employees, always making sure you was safe and in good health, easy to talk to if you had any problems not that i did,a good crew both male and female, had a good workplace culture would not stand for any racism or or derogatory remarks weather you thought it funny or not was a no no, i learned to slow down getting the job don,t right and safely was the key factor so we can all go home safe to our loved ones, Hardest part of the job to be honest was the heat in the height of summer, but we was told to take plenty of drink breaks if needed given the appropriate safety ware. the most i loved was there was a lovely atmosphere between crew management and other companies on the island. we used to share our bus with two other companies to help out. yes i would work for Ertech again without a thought.

started at Ertech 2007 a smallish company then and very family oriented, but as I grew and the top management got further and further away, they became buffeted by underlings or lackeys you might say and im sure that the top brass had no idea what these lackeys were protecting them from and not telling them what was truly going on in the firm, at the end 2015 it was a beurocratic nightmare. workers laid of but the non productive pen pushers kept theres

Set up computer for day tasks, open programs, check emails, any given projects to be completed aim to have completed within deadlines and work to my full potential.
I have broaden my experience in excel and data entry, co-workers are friendly, and willing to give you their time if helps need be, most enjoyable part of my job was having projects done on time and getting appraised for my work.

Very bad bullying culture by supervisors 

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
I could not wait to knock off every day

*Typical day at work included dealing with subcontractors and Ertech resources, procurement of materials and plant, cost management, variation estimation and submission
*I learned about land development and extended my ability to work with subcontractors.
*Management was very supportive, but since I was the sole engineer on site I was required to make decisions without immediate support.

Worked on the Olympic dam in SA.
Management very approachable.
The crew very helpful .
Large job was required to do many tasks at height, required direction from the other operators.
Busy place for machinery had to be alert and mindful constantly, learnt new skills

Enjoyed working with colleagues with extensive industry experience. Opportunity to assist with other trades and operations. Opportunity to work at a location (Barrow Island) with high conservation values.

start day with pre start meeting plan of the day.  head out start JHAs start cards machine checks plan job, begin job and utilising all assets at my disposal to maximise productivity while maintaining a safe healthy workplace adhering to the companies HSE policies and procedures

I worked on the pipeline from the Plant to the sea (20km's) doing the backfill for the pipe we had put in, also constructing turkeys nests around site, we had a great crew, the most enjoyed part of the job was where we were on the coast, it gave me a chance to see a lot of beautiful places around the area
