Everyday starts with a Safety Share and 15 minute preshift meeting with the team to discuss the  last 24 hours of safety and production.

From the prestart we devise an action plan to address any safety, maintenance or quality concerns.

After reviewing the past 24 hours we then allocate daily tasks and the days operations commences.

The Pre shift meeting is a great place to discuss and learn from our experiences. It also helps me gauge the teams morale and assists me in identifying when team members have concerns. For example a team member had an issue where he was frustrated with a colleague who failed to establish positive communications on the 2 way radio. This was bought to my attention from here it was identified that the 2 way was faulty in the Manufacturing unit. The unit was tagged out of service and the radio replaced and tested prior to returning to work.

In the current climate the QLD mining industry is down sizing and unfortunately the hardest part for me is delivering the news on how this affects our team and the greater business.

I enjoy the fast pace and challenging environment I work in. Our clients are very demanding and there nothing better than delivering on a client request that stretches our resources.

A typical day would start of with Tool Box talks, which would involve the day's plans, safety reviews and with the highs and lows of the day before.

Team environments were awesome.  Made the job enjoyable and made the days go quicker.

I learned a lot about safety within the environment I worked in handling SSAN.  I was always aware of what was going on around me and what I did as an operator and how I would impact others if I were not to do my job safely and correctly.

JSA's, Risk Assessments, Take 5's were just some of the procedures in place to keep me safe and others as well.

There was to typical day of work, whether office based, traveling to a mine site or production facility, there was a wide variety of work.

I learned how to better manage priorities and to manage different expectations for various parties in projects.

One of DNAP's strengths is their workers, a great bunch of people to work with.

The hardest part of the job was addressing the many projects and areas off work that were deemed necessary but with limited resources.

I most enjoyed managing me team of young engineers.

Working at Dyno Nobel was a great experience. The 3 separate shifts worked to and mostly exceeded their quotas in achieving all supply demands with limited machinery downtime. Enjoy working with all types of people who had a passion to achieve a high standard of finished product through safety and accountability.

People were great, work culture is excellent but they have put people in senior positions that are there for their self gratification and only care about their bonus. These senior people do not care about process, they want the financial rewards quickly and when you actually prove that what they are doing is not the best scenario, you are added to their hit list and you are gone, for the most minor actions.

I learnt a great deal about time management and how a planned operation is a easy one but the skills I learnt in this role would well outway what I have learnt in my whole career.

A typical day at work is fun with good crew members.
The management is very poor and makes being at work a struggle.
The hardest part of the job is dealing with management that doesn't work and co-workers and operators in charge that bully and harass. 
The most enjoyable part of the job was learning new things, being able to improve each day or certain jobs and a few of the co workers that made a working day worth it.

The money is good, but if your after a career that will offer good training and a rewarding position then this isn't the place.
Management is inefficient and bordering on incompetent, as an employee you are thrown in the deep end with no training and no backup from your managers 
Very disappointing place to work.

Very challenging work environment with ever changing day to day duties.I learnt so much at Dyno Nobel a very professional company. Management were help full and good listeners and the workplace culture was very strong and safety orientated. The best part  of the job would be the every day challenges we faced and I don,t have a worst part
