Each day that I was shifted a day I was filled in on all the information I needed. I was told what I needed to wear for each job and who I needed to talk to. For many jobs I was required to fill out training sheets, mostly OH&S training. 

I learnt to quickly adapt to new environments and positions I'd normally be uncomfortable in. 

My manager for each job was usually very good. They helped me meet my fellow employees and did a good job explaining what was needed of me and how to do it. 

My co-workers were all nice and fun to work with. They were always looking out for me and were patient as sometimes it took longer to grasp what was needed from me.

The hardest part of the job was constantly having to meet new people and learn all the new things. Even though this was difficult, it was also the most fun and enjoyable part as I made lots of new friends and met a bunch of really cool and nice people.

 Cultural was good. Sometimes behaviours can be hard. 
Enabling client to achieve and decide what they would like to do
 Taking clients out for coffee, appointments and giving them my companship and discussing what they would like to achieve ,and what if any care they feel they need as things change. My job is to ensure I look for hazards and changes to ensure their safety
 I love all aspects of supporting people l

. Engaging with their families and to have a good rapaul with families,  friends and health workers to better understand the client. Although I know a care plan is in place. 

What is the best part of working at the company?
Very good  agency to work with great pay and great staff.

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Mostly when trying to contact after hours which is based in NZ and they are not aware of the area and situation. 

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Great management and they always there to listen to us .

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Mostly do night shift so some days are busy and some days are ok.

When I worked for Drake Medox I took every available shift that was going and work became my life through Drake medox I was living my dream but the expense of having to take my own car and use my own petrol etc took its toll on the poor car and I gave my job up as a result to work in the disability sector where I didn’t have to keep taking my own car from house to house suburb to suburb etc..Having a reliable safe car is a must for this job.

Great rostering system , 24 hour phone communication if required. Well known and established company so they are across all the appropriate employer and clients requirements. 

God work place as we work as a team plantie  of on going traning.   Tipe of work is on going @ rewarding. We learn everyday.                  Work  place manager very important.    drake is a very good company to work for. Well organised. @ care for there work colleagues.


Unfair, toxic, management don’t care about your opinion, no growth in the company, no understanding of a personal life, want you to work 24/7, don’t care about any emergencies 

Wouldn't recomend working here.
Often asked to stay back or cover shifts last minute due to a high furnover of staff.

   Client specific training would be ideal before starting new staff on a program with a client. 

Drake is one of the best companies I have worked with as a support worker with best team and the management is very good. I recommend drake to anybody because it’s a very good company.
