Being a delivery driver for DoorDash is a good way to earn money, enjoy flexibility, and help people. Here are some reasons why:

The paid is pretty poor for the amount of km you do with your own car, plus getting tax 20% of your earning !
they often send you to big shopping center  with very little indication where to park hence you have to walk long distance and waisting time in car park. I quickly  stop working for them!
Unless you willing to work worst hours such as late at night, weekend,  public holiday or very early in the morning on the weekend!
Cherry on top of the cake,  support service  is incompetent, I asked their abn number and address for tax purpose and the best answer I got was we are unable to help you for your tax! Meanwhile those information  are public .
Pretty terrible company. I blame people who have to relie on this company to make a living !


This job would be fine if they paid consistently and if the work was consistent. There are days when you get hardly any delivery opportunities and on those days you will be paid peanuts. The support staff are out of touch and encourage you to smile - why smile when you're paid so badly? You have to use your own car, your own fuel money, and your own job-related expenses. 

Honestly, the worst part about this job is how inconsistent it is, you can't rely on it at all. Some days it works out at $27 per hour, some days $15 per hour - impossible to know.

They need to instate a mandatory minimum per hour rate that is REASONABLE not as low as possible. They are a multi-million dollar corporation, PAY YOUR DRIVERS PROPERLY!

Dealing with driver support is very frustrating. Waiting for orders is super stressful, especially when you can see that you are sitting with a bunch of other dashers in the same spot.

You're in your own car so there's no company environment.

Again you're in your own car so there is no company. But a typical day is sitting in your car waiting for orders and then picking him up and delivering them.

There are no best parts, only bad

They give you a strike against your I.D. for late delivery even they complely know it was caused by the restaurant not having the food ready on time. The in app navigation frequently directs you to the wrong address often an entire km from the correct and sometimes to an unoccupied  location

Can start anytime me want! And end at anytime too! No one is chasing you unless reported!

Didn’t get the support from the company when  verbally attacked from vendors, instead I got a lot of warnings without hearing my side of stories that was crazy part of the company!

Normal day at the office, when it’s raining and using a bike it always fun with that extra fees

Inconsistent Pay: Some days are okay, but many are awful with few orders and low tips. It’s hard to count on it as a reliable income.
High Vehicle Costs: Lots of driving means more maintenance, higher fuel costs, and faster wear and tear on your car.
Low Base Pay: The base pay is low, and tips aren't guaranteed. If customers don’t tip well, you’re left with very little.
Stressful Conditions: Dealing with traffic, bad weather, and tight delivery windows is stressful. Plus, DoorDash support is often slow and unhelpful when problems arise.
Unreliable Orders: Canceled orders and closed restaurants waste your time and gas, with no compensation.

If you do doordash, do it in a small town, not the city like Sydney. I was making a killing doing doordash in Shellharbour south of Sydney, making 1300 a week before tax of course, but in Sydney, it's incredibly hard because the zones are so huge and the amount of driving and walking you have to do is absurd and the take home pay is much less while having to fill up on petrol every day and only making about 150 a day. There's inconsistencies concerning where you decide to do it, but when it's good, IT'S GOOD, but when it's bad, it's really bad. 

After paying $170 per week in fuel, Driving in excess of 800kms per week and then subtracting 30% tax from any earnings and actually getting 10 hours of actual work out of 30+ hours driving around searching for offers. 

Avoid Doordash at all costs, it's oversaturated (too many drivers) and not enough work. You will make $8 am hour typically, $15 per hour on a good day. In the beginning (first few days) you'll get $20 an hour but that is short lived. Get a second job, don't do door dash.

Work when you want and where you want on flexible hours, be your own boss!

Advice to Management

Merchants need a more accurate ETA with regards to driver arrival so that orders are prepared more efficiently. Merchant procedures can change depending on order times, so drivers need to know where to pick completed orders from (drive through or counter).
