Overall Dimmeys is a good place to work. There's a big variety of tasks to do such as operating a register, customer assistance, pricing and hanging stock, re-stocking shelves, cleaning, merchandising and so forth. There's always plenty to do in order to keep you occupied. My co-workers are all friendly people and hard workers, I really enjoy working with them and I find this is a majour contributor to a friendly and effective work environment. Management are young and have a lot to learn but have made a lot of progress and are in the process of improving. The hardest part of my job would be dealing with difficult customers, although this can be a challenge it is something easily learnt through experience. The most enjoyable part of my job would be the relationships I build with my co-workers.

A typical day at work is to be motivated, fast on your feet, good house keeping skills, Keeping customers satisfied and always being honest and reliable. I learned how to do refunds, communicate with difficult customers, Stock taking, banking and Product knowledge. The hardest part of my position was to keep customers happy, even if they we not correct. The most enjoyable part of my job would have been chatting and getting to know the regular customers, therefor being able to meet their needs correctly. I loved seeing my customers leave with a smile.

EVERYDAY WAS STARTED WITH NEW JOBS AT WORK. LONG HOURS WITH LIMITED STAFF. 
HANDLING DELIVERIES  AND LOADING AND UNLOADING PALETTES WITH DIFFERENT PRODUCTS FOR THE STORE AND DISTRIBUTE THEM IN THE STORE AND ACCORDING TO THE DEPARTMENT.
RESOLVE CUSTOMERS PROBLEMS RELATED TO REFUND AND COMPANY POLICIES.
THE HARDEST PART IS NO TIME TO RELAX IF THE STORE MANAGER IS NOT IN THE STORE. HAVE TO DO BANKING GETTING CHANGE FROM THE BANK.
HAVE TO INCREASE THE SALE OF THE STORE AND DO VERBAL ADVERTISING IN THE STORE. CO WORKERS WERE VERY SUPPORTIVE

I found that this was a great place to begin working as it provided you with the ability to learn the skills necessary for a working environment. I was able to learn many skills required for a retail position.  
I was able to work both on the floor which included - putting items away, preparing for catalogue/sales, helping customers along constantly keeping the shop clean. I was able to work on the registers, here I was able to learn how to give refunds to customers. This had also taught me more about multi-tasking, as we would put out stock and keep the registers tidy while serving customers.

Great job if you have a good manager. But if the manager is terrible then, you're up for serious trouble. When doing something for the first time or if you make a genuine mistake, they won't give you a shift again instead of telling you and teaching you how things are done. Then suddenly one day you don't have a job and you're never told why. One of our managers did it to a number of employees at the store. It was unfortunate because Dimmey's was a good place to work at other than that one manager.

The store itself was great to work at. But management was very rude to me multiple times as well as some customers. Also had trouble seeing the stores character. and it wasn't a very welcoming store either.

I was always an early bird and when i started the job everything was going smooth until i got used to the people and the job i was to complete which was stacking shelves and also picking clothes off the floor and putting them back on the rack. The hardest part of the job was picking clothes off the ground because i had to bend my back every two steps and it was pretty sore. The most enjoyable part of this job was my lunch break because i got to know more and more of the workers at Dimmeys.

Good workplace, with a workload that is manageable, includes tagging, slap gunning and pricing stock, as well as displaying stock for promotional services. Also have to work a lot with customers on the register, or through assisting them. I do enjoy my job as i like what i do at work but i am surrounded with good co-workers and a good environment.

A typical work day can range from helping stock shelves, clean the store or serving customers. There are always plenty of things to do and it can definitely be fast paced at times. I work with only a few other employees, although everyone gets along very well and have friendships out of work. Work can be challenging when put in tough situations with stock or customers, having a strong team definitely makes the job easier.

Dimmeys was a big part of my life for a long time.
I enjoyed the day to day running of the business. You never new what each day would bring.
My day was continuous from start to finish with always something to do and manage.
I was lucky enough to work with a great group of people over my time with dimmeys and i thank them all for that
I learnt there is nothing I cant do when i put my mind to it.
