The company has 3x general sales team "commit" meetings and  2x internal Line of Business meetings to confirm deals closing for the current month as well as at least 2x  mandatory webex "product update' conferences and at least 2x 'partner' product/ services presentations every week. Also, a compulsory meeting and presentation with the 'opportunity review board' for every deal worth >$100K GP and 3 formal stages for sale pricing approval. As such, a typical day can be quite frustrating and consists of trying to fit in customer and opportunity development/ close  time around at least 3x mandatory internal meetings. 

Thanks to its strong Cisco re-seller background and a recent acquisition spree,  DD has some good IT solution offerings in the Connectivity, Cloud and Real time threat management space, 
 
The senior leadership and management team comprise resources that have been with DD for over 15 years, so do not have the wider    perspective and cross pollination skills that comes from working with other companies that helps with achieving the agility and flexibility demanded by the current customer base.   

DD has some very smart, experienced and skilfull resources who are a pleasure to associate with as co-workers. 

The hardest part of the job is trying to overcome the deeply ingrained silo based culture and trying to get all stakeholder resources and line mangers to work as a team towards a common productive purpose. 

The most enjoyable part of the job is discussing the business problem with the customer, crafting a suitable potential solution with the pre-sales & product specialist teams and delivering the win-win  outcomes for the customer and DD as promised.  .

I enjoyed carrying out the project work, which had me travelling locally to client sites.  I was working with remote engineers, some who were in other states/ or even countries, and they were all great to get along with and knowledgeable and helpful.  When not carrying out project work, I was in the local office, either preparing for upcoming projects or online training.  I was also sent to many vendor training/ and presentations.  The other engineers in the office were great to work with, and friendly, so we all frequently spoke to one another while in the office.

There are managerial problems, even to the extent where staff members are bullied.
Working hours became increasingly long, with many out of hours working weekend.
The office is dull, and depressing.
Not enough support is offered to the Engineers, not locally in the office anyway.
Engineers are overworked and over utilised, with very little appreciation for the work that they do.
The office and the work slowly drained the life out of me, and other Engineers!

After leaving the company, I had very little confidence left due to the managements feedback to my work (all of which was praised by the Project Managers!).  I have spoken to other Engineers while working for this company, and since leaving, who have all experienced the same.  This really needs to be reviewed.

Work at Dimension Data's Cloud Business unit was always busy.  The company is still in its infancy in many ways and as such, many processes are still being refined.
Staff are of a high caliber and while busy morale is high.  Staff are supportive of one another and there are key team members that are always busy.
The most enjoyable part of the role was working with many clients with newer technologies and many different scenarios.
The team are very skilled and learning new skills from these staff is enjoyable.
The hardest part of the role was staying on top of the many projects being completed simultaneously and staying keeping up with certifications.

Management, culture and company direction is very very questionable.

Found out they were billing me out at exorbitant rates

Honestly working with Dimension Data (now NTT Global) has been a fantastic journey for the last 1.5 years and every month has a new challenge on various projects. Must recommend all new bees and experienced professional if you want to join a large organization with varied technological projects to work on (DD - now NTT)

Dimension Data is a great organisation. A very successful organisation. 

Integration and company mergers could have been better.

Management is slowing improving and being integrated.

If you work hard and are successful it is a great company.

Dimension Data is a fast pace workplace, you start at 7.30 am and finish at 5 pm. The day is full with resource negotiation , meetings and running reports.   Gathering information from reports , PM , FSM and Account Managers. Applying this information to produce forecast, actual to forecast reports to use to improve utilisation.
