Where do I even start? I lost count of all the issues I had with this company in the 3 months I worked here as a casual. I should have taken notice of all the red flags right from the start. 

Before my interview, I was told I'd be sent an email with all the information I needed. A week later and no email, I spend 2 days trying to call and email someone to ask, then when I finally got a response I was told there was "never supposed to be an email sent".

They failed to send me all the relevant documents before I started, then insisted that I hadn't provided them with all relevant documents. There was so much confusion between head office and the store manager as to when I was starting my first shift and it was impossible to contact anyone to clarify. 

On my first shift, the (grossly incompetent, unprofessional and disorganised) store manager didn't even realise I had a shift and insisted I had it wrong, which I definitely did not. I was given no training whatsoever, not shown around the store or introduced to anyone, and within 5 minutes of being in the store was just told to "walk around and help customers" - which was completely unfair and ridiculous since I had no idea where anything was and had worked at the company for all of a few minutes. Never got trained on the registers or given a staff login code. I was only given one shift a week, and every shift I was greeted with the same "I didn't know you were working today?" from the store manager. 

After my first week, I got 2 emails saying I had been a "no show" at my rostered shifts, when I had been on time to both, and then didn't get paid for my first two weeks of work. This took management over a month to sort out. I was deliberately rostered on days when I had specified I couldn't work and had been assured I wouldn't be rostered, and then after 2 and a half months I just stopped getting shifts or being sent the weekly roster and never heard from them again. No "Thanks for working here" or "Unfortunately we won't be renewing your contract", nothing. 

Disgusting. Avoid working here if you can, it's a huge waste of time.

- The hardest part of the job is managing the constant flow of tasks and the occasional high-pressure situations, which can be stressful. However, it also pushes you to grow and develop resilience.

- The most enjoyable part of the job is the sense of accomplishment and empowerment that comes from successfully handling challenging situations. The workplace's collaborative spirit and the satisfaction of achieving goals make it rewarding.

Fooled at the interview into thinking it was going to be a supportive, encouraging and empowering place to work. It never was. Constantly harassed by management, no matter if you are hitting budgets. Stock turnover is challenging to maintain as there isn't alot of room in backrooms, VM changes weekly which I enjoyed. Staff and customers were a pleasure to work with. 
Even if you think you want to try the opportunity, know that you are going to go home stressed and exhausted every night, then feel unappreciated by management, training is non existent and there is no responsibility from management. It's not worth the stress and it's  not worth your time as they do not appreciate you. Culture from management is toxic and I don't mean store managers I mean everyone else above store level. No matter how hard you try it is not enough.

Seems great at first, however when you work there for a few months you realise that empowering each other and all that is fake. Head office visits are just a nightmare their expectations are so high its unreasonable, they throw tantrums and don't know how to communicate like a normal person. They bully people in company and don't care about anything but money. Regional managers need more training in communicating with team and more training how to manage so many stores at once. Very physical work with dmg stock and constantly dealing with new collections that lack quality. Return police is laughable and even customers tend to go shop somewhere else. They really need to start thinking about treating people with respect rather than peasants. A lot of potential but going down the hill fast. Sad.


Working part-time at Decjuba was honestly a pretty good experience overall. The team was super friendly and made shifts a lot more enjoyable, especially when it got really busy. Most of the job is just helping customers, giving styling advice, and keeping the store looking nice, which can actually be fun if you like fashion. It can get pretty hectic during sales or weekends, and you’re on your feet the whole time, so it does get tiring. Management was generally supportive, but sometimes shifts could be a bit inconsistent which made it hard to plan around. One thing I liked was that it didn’t feel overly pushy with sales, it was more about connecting with customers. Overall, it’s a solid retail job, especially if you want to build confidence talking to people and gain some customer service experience.

Worked here since December after they pushed back the store 6 weeks after what they had originally said which I left my job for so I was jobless because they didn’t have things organised. Ever since I have been lied to, talked behind my back and just plain rudeness. Management doesn’t know how to run a company as they change their mind every two seconds and they think that they are all above you. Hours are poor and they constantly take days off of you. They never trained anyone and they belittle you especially the regional manager for this store. They say they care but they couldn’t care less about you. There is no opportunity to go further in your career working in this store. Definitely don’t recommend working here as it is toxic workplace 

Decjuba is a very relaxed and chill place to work. I worked as causal and covered shifts at different store, all have nice and friendly managers and stuff. 
straight forward tasks, will only get max of 2 or 3 weeks to get used to the routine.

overall best Retail company to work at, and don't have to have much experience.

Great team I worked with but the company is bad.They say their mantra is to empower woman but they only care about empowering themselves.They change things at a drop of a hat.
Role play is ridiculous.You feel like you’re back at school.
Manager’s get a hard time and always are expected to start early.
Company spends so much time wanting the store changed around every week that it’s not customer focused as they try to say it is.
They constantly drop hours but expect to you to work when it suits them.

The worst thing about this company is higher up management (regional managers, state managers and up)
Very sales focused, constantly changing their mind (one week they tell you to do something and the next week they send emails saying to stop doing what we were told to do), don't trust their staff and nothing you do is ever enough for them. You can do everything right but if you make one mistake that's the part they focus on. 

Managers are constantly quitting or dropping to lower positions and staff turnover is high.
