After working 50-60hr weeks for 2 years for this company with no vacation, I was greeted with a surprise visit from my supervisor with "administrative leave" paperwork before being let go along with a few other people supposedly because the client they had a contract with had the power to fire people in our company whenever they felt like it. I lost a week's worth of sick time and had to pay for health care for 2 weeks before even getting my last pay check as they pretended I might actually keep the position.  Before being advised I was let go, I was interrogated by some French Canadian upper management guy as if I was personally to blame for the mass layoff they were facing. There was no warning to this layoff even though management knew about the possibility MONTHS IN ADVANCE!  If you're interested in working in I.T., DO NOT START HERE! DXC will leave a bad taste in your mouth for years to come.
The worst part about this company is having 12 different people calling you, emailing, texting you, messaging you with demands about progress, inventory status, ticket status, etc, etc with no one manager taking responsibility for assisting you in doing the job of 5 people. In fact even though I was assigned a manager at first, I was assigned 6 different managers within just a few months and at some points I had no manager at all.
The pay was abysmal at best for the amount of work they expect you to do, and they lend no human resource assistance in keeping up with their hundreds of tickets in to meet the SLA that they contract with their clients for. 
They basically set themselves up for failure while putting all the pressure on one low paid technician to do all the work. Even if you have a hundred tickets in your queue, you're expected to personally call or email every single client every single day and update the ticket accordingly, leaving very little time to actually solve any of them.  Their neglect in adequately staffing their client locations was their doom.

In the end, their complete lack of management and staffing caused them to fail their clients and lose millions of dollars in fines due to their failure to meet their contractual obligations.

A good place to gain experience, it may not be a big name, but it is a global player. Consider it a place to gain specific experience - don't expect support, don't expect development and don't expect longevity, 

The global mission is basically the old "shareholder value is all" sweat and dump game. 

The merger of CSC, UXC, Fruition, and HPES is still more in name than fact and the complete lack of integration of companies, systems or processes has made a jumbled mess to navigate or be productive within.

There are some really good staff with great skills in this company  ...  a few teams have a great bond and are more family than colleagues. However, mostly it seems that staff are either trapped or lured in by obfuscation, omission and outright lies. 

Likewise, some really good local managers exist, but they are effectively drowned out by the global executive attitude towards staff and the drive for ever increasing and unrealistic metrics.  

There is a nervous and toxic culture based on a mix of police state policies, cuts in benefits, no pay raises (they were disconnected from the annual appraisal system and if given - have rarely provided any  increases [under 4%] over the last five years) and on top of all of that, there is the continuous threat of restructuring, divestitures and redundancies which means most staff spend far more time waiting or volunteering for the axe to fall upon their necks. Why would anyone try to be creative or offer any supplementary effort?  It is the common consensus that staff are effectively tolerated as a cost to be shed as soon as possible.

The command and control management style is pervasive with a lack of communication, information flow or clarity. The only aspects that seem to be transparent is that when they are earned, internal promotions have little to no financial recognition. Senior roles are often market hired, un-advertised and can usually be tracked based on relationships over merit. 

Go in with your eyes open - some departments are better than others - but keep expectations low.

Typical day included daily reconciliation of security logs and media movements on/offsite. Procurement/stock check follow-up, ordering stock, paying invoices. Daily, weekly or monthly reporting to be produced for Management. Liaising with customers, trades people and third party vendors. Completing staff inductions. Audit processing as required.
Learning new tasks/processes was a daily thing as I was involved in many areas of the business due to limited staff numbers.
Localised management were very supportive and had a good relationship across the different groups.
Workplace culture was central always, as DXC was very big on promoting cultural awareness and ethics.
Hardest part of the job was!!, there wasn't one.
Most enjoyable part of the job was working with a great locally based group of people, who were always friendly and had a great work ethic.

Everyday was a challenge as we were always given new and exciting projects to work on. A typical day usually involved team meetings and completing tasks. Managers were very supportive and provided great guidance and advise. The employees at DXC were very professional and supportive in team/social environments and also helpful with accomplishing tasks and delivering output.

It was a very fast-paced working environment therefore handling multiple projects was required, and frequent communication between team members and clients was vital for successful deliverables and outcomes.

The company provided various channels of communication (facebook, townhall meetings with the CEO, social events, internal communications etc.). DXC made it easy for employees to be in the loop of how the company was performing and what their next steps were.

DXC, formerly HP, formerly EDS, was overall an OK place to work. The work life balance was fine for the most part, but they’re notoriously tight with pay, and they have a bad habit of promoting internally and not giving pay rises, so basically getting professional staff well below the market rate. As a result they tend to lose established and competent staff in droves, but strangely don’t seem too bothered by that. 

They aren’t the most organised of managers, but aren’t terrible. They’ve had some just awful CEO’s in the past, criminally bad in fact, but the current one seems ok. 

It’s place I’d hesitate to recommend overall, staff aren’t really cared about much, certainly not in the UK, but it’s not the worst place I’ve worked either. 


Working at DXC Technologies has been a mixed experience. While the company offers flexibility with remote work and exposure to large-scale projects, there are significant downsides. The work culture can be challenging, with frequent layoffs, limited job security, and constant restructuring. Staff members often report feeling undervalued, with minimal opportunities for growth or career advancement. Compensation is below industry standards, and raises or bonuses are rare. Additionally, the lack of communication from upper management and the over-reliance on cost-cutting measures negatively impact both employee morale and client satisfaction.

Not an ideal environment for those looking for stability or career development.

As consultantm, we need to deomonstrate our billable hours every week, which the realization rate has to be above 80%.

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
flexbile work environment. team culture is quiet healthy. my reporting manager is nice.

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
start with a project meeting. 2 or 3 meetings every day. then lots of email responding as well as writing different documents for the project purpose.

A typical day at work consisted of working with a fast paced energetic Marketing and CTO team.  Friendly, interpersonal, which provided a great deal of satisfaction at end of working week, with personal achievement.
Company culture, absolutely amazing, Senior Leaders providing weekly progress and updates which kept all staff in the loop.
During COVID, DXC has always ensured that staff are kept safe with fantastic working from home options.

Some really good people, unfortunately senior management attitude towards staff is that they are a tolerated cost to be shed as soon as possible. Continuous redundancies have created a nervous culture where staff spend more time waiting for the axe to fall rather than being creative. Internal promotions have little to no financial recognition. Good place to gain experience but not somewhere to expect longevity in employment.

Respect - I've never worked for an MSP that treated it's staff like assets to the team, instead of just an expendable resource

Depends on what you do - I was a field engineer - I was most often at one site but occasionally I'd whizz off to far flung locations
