Not so much about the company but the clients you have expecting so much to be done with the smallest amount of people in the smallest time frame

Welcome team to work for the day!

I leave camp at 4-45 am and travel to site, have a staff meeting at
5-30am followed by a prestart for all at 6 am. I sign all JHA's & Permit's. Make sure all of the work crew's can proceed with their
job's. I attend all meetings i am required to. I conduct on site audit's,
for Safety and Production. I order Plant & Material's as required.
Every day I learn something about the work crew's personal life
and their requirements.
We have a large management team made up of different culture's
which work well together.
I find the hardest part of the job is the heat.
I think the most enjoyable part is Seeing the crew go home after a good day's work in as good a shape as they came in if not better.

DTMT was a very good honest company to work for.They had the gear and materials to get the task done.Where always helpful towards any safety issues and got them rectified straight away as employees safety was always the No1 important item that everyone went back home Uninjured to their families.
The work always varied and was not boring,the day went fast as you were always busy.A good family business well run but got too large to keep 100% control off.

Managers and supervisors very professional and knowledgeable that set high standards. Training and opportunities  for career advancement. Loyalty, teamwork and good communication between managers and employees with strong focus on client satisfaction and engagement. 
DTMT = Don't Touch My Tools. The only cons I had was lack of adequate equipment to complete tasks and the poor maintenance of vehicles due to the "budget" and lack of support for the maintenance crew.

my day is mainly earthworks operating a variety of machines for bulk earthworks detailed works i have learnt a fair bit about safety and paperwork
 the management have being fairly good at looking after personal an making sure contracts finish on time
most of the people i work with ar good work mates always look out for one another
hardest part of the job is dealing with the heat
the best part of the job is finishing off the job with a good group of people an nobody gets hurt

With dtmt, it was my first professional job experience in Australia and I was not able to capture what means to see the personal distinction in life and how a busy life can become physically, emotionally and mentally drawning, but I am grateful for having that job experience there and letting me stay in Australia. I learned afterwards that life style is more than a good salary but more of personal growth, and dtmt management reflects a culture that extend from their organization to the employees.

Different cultures of individuals and importance of the Land owner's history and the environment. Practise safety procedures and look out for one another.
Hardest part of the job is basically just living away from family.
Most enjoyable part of the job is helping and mentoring others as a mate's observer.

End of contract time .. people get jumpy

great company but as an operator found i was not utilized to the best of my abilities. Like many other operators, spent many shifts used as a labourer. Middle management seemed to be a little confused as to day to day tasks. Slight favouritisim shown to operators who were of european decent. Hardest part of the job was being given an opportunity to progress. Most enjoyable part of the job was working with some good poeple.

10 hour days 13 day fortnight learned to work in extreme conditions for long hours. Learned to mediate between management and co-workers as a leading hand. Hardest part was leaving my family. Most enjoyable part was the work and the facilities.
