It would be very much better if they have more shifts around Melbourne. 
I used to work very hard and I feel more independent when I used to  live in Cranbourne.
But since I moved to my new location which is in truganina I  have been calling them for shifts but non. At least they should creat more jobs vacancies and shifts with DHHS so that we can start working again. 
I love working with them.

Due to privatisation of the DAS sector, there had been a mass exodus of some good capable staff with some retiring early. 
It's a matter of who you know and not what you really know. Staff are not rewarded for their dedication and hard work, they are frowned upon and seen as a challenge.  Whereas the ones that don't work and made lots of mistakes get rewarded!

I enjoyed working with a team and being involved with the clients,Hardest part of the job was seeing distressed clients.Playing games and going out for meals and drives and over night trips were the highlights There were no typical days at work each day was different.

I enjoyed working there even though it was short I loved working there, very friendly and supportive staffs. I worked in Rehab ward for 3 months and I learned a lot and gain more confidence working in hospital settings. Management was good and approachable. Good teamwork and work life balance. 

DHHS in Geelong has just been privatised and is now run by Scope@home. I have worked with people with disabilities in both institution and group homes settings. It has been a challenging but very rewarding career.

The department is a challenging, confronting, rewarding, eventful, diverse and ever changing place of employment. you face professional and personal challenges while dealing with clients, professionals and others involved in the well being of the vulnerable and needy in the state

Depending on what department you're in, you generally join a kind and collaborative group. Can't complain but may not have gotten the full experience being an intern for them during  CareerTrackers stint.

short notice of work of overtime
great on job training if you have the time
very rarely you get breaks

Was a good job working with teenage clients the job became to dangerous and at my age I decided that this job was not for me anymore so I quit after 14.5 years.

good place to work and enjoy it but I would like to relocate to get more experience my co workers are good speaking to staff sometimes is difficult but at the end of the day its been enjoyable
