It's not that bad of a job if you don't mind standing at the register all shift which makes it extremely boring when there aren't any customers in. Upper management/Head office makes the worst decisions I've ever seen. "Lets force the staff to upsale useless stuff no one wants" or "Double the price of the bags and make them half as big" and the classic "Lets change the whole store layout every other week lmao xdd".

Not to mention the roster is entirely decided by one person, so if they dislike you then good luck getting more than ONE shift a week.

The upselling is also the most stupid thing I've ever heard of. They blame you if the customers don't wanna buy the thing your upselling... FOR SOME REASON IDK?? And then they make you upsell the dumbest products ever, like curry and knockoff lego. The time i worked there they made us sell hand warmers a month before prime winter season and then surprise pikachu face'd when no one wanted to buy any. 


If you are casual. still ok just listen to your DM.  Do not consider to be part time/full time here. Management is real bad. Management office do not listen to you in any case. If you working hard they will push you to work harder as a rewards. a lot of old fashion rules. You will not allow to have phone during your shift. So prepare watch. Sometimes, they will asking you to help another store without transport fee.

Management is fine and hours/flexibility is great too, so very suited for uni students/ those who have other commitments.
If I were to state a minor downside, it's that the work culture does not encourage communication amongst the workers. You rarely see chit chatting, but this can be seen as a plus for some. I actually prefer this over a manager who doesn't do anything and just chats.

As a casual staff, things might get a bit redundant but the job itself is not hard. It's definitely fast-paced and your colleagues can be really supportive. Although, depending the area you are working in, the customers can be really nasty!

Customers varies, but during a bad day it could be unbearable and thefts do happen. They expect you to display their products at an unrealistic speed and would order too much stock for products that doesn't sell at the speed of the products being restocked. Pay is frequently late. Being favoured also determines the amount of shifts you get. Co-workers and duty managers are great though.

Head office always expect their employee to perform good performance in their tasks, they showed you how to work properly as well. However it’s depend on who you work with as well. I have really good coworkers who know what they doing and having supportive boss which is nice and want to work with the company again.
Sometimes management is poor but they fixed really quick so that’s fine.

Payroll processing was occasionally marred by delays and inaccuracies in payment calculations. As a precaution, it was necessary to diligently review one's payslip with each payment cycle. Furthermore, there were concerns regarding the behavior of the store manager, as she exhibited a tendency to engage in divisive interactions within the team.

Fun place to work if you get along with your coworkers. Otherwise your two main roles are register and displaying stock. Sometimes there is pressure to put out as much as you can on the shelves, other times you may stand at the register for five hours straight to serve customers. It's a productive place where you  will always have something to do.

Job was flexible, and I was lucky enough that my manager and colleagues were friendly and supportive. Not so much towards the end but i can’t let that sour the overall experience.

Lack of communication from head office and little to no support from anyone. After new ownership the store managers are made to feel like just key holders. New owners basically got rid of all old head office team and brought their own team in.
