Unprofessional environment to work in. The first red flag is that they don’t interview you, or even acknowledge your existence. I’ve seen people work for an hour before the boss on duty even spoke to them. 

The owners throw you into the deep end with no training and get mad when you make a mistake. There is a constant change of staff as no one is ever good enough (apart from the few favourites) , hence why there is ALWAYS a job opening here. I have seen new people come in and other staff have told the bosses not to hire them because they weren’t good enough, even though the trainee was doing great. Everyone is completely overworked, as they are always understaffed, yet half of the current staff don’t want new people hired and are extremely rude. 

The bosses will humiliate you, and will even do so in front of customers. You will be made to feel stupid for not knowing every single thing. And whatever you do, DONT ask the bosses any questions. They hate it when you talk to them. 

You will start here and think you’re doing great, then suddenly the shifts will stop because they’ve replaced you for no reason. Very high turn around of staff for no apparent reason. You will also never get offered a job, or given a uniform. That is reserved for the favourites 

I have tried to be nice in this review, but it was difficult. 

This cafe is in a prime location and can become very busy, which requires staff to work efficiently and remain calm under pressure which may not be right for some people. The management genuinely value hardworking employees and are supportive, and attentive to staff wellbeing.

During my time at the cafe, I was able to significantly strengthen my hospitality skill set, entering the role with very little barista experience and growing into someone confident in managing peak hour coffee service, as well as assisting with light kitchen duties and food preparation. This makes it a great environment for new staff to learn and quickly build confidence across multiple areas of hospitality.

The management team and more experienced staff  try to support new team members and help them succeed. I will always look back fondly on my time here and continue to stay in touch with people I met.


Wouldn’t work here. Terrible bosses who don’t acknowledge their staff. Would expect their causals to act as a manager and give no recognition. Would recommend to work anywhere but here. Owners wouldn’t teach you how to do certain things but get extremely mad when you didn’t know how to do it. The only somewhat enjoyable part was the other employees however you could never talk to them even while doing tasks without getting in trouble. Bosses would just sit in the kitchen and watch you on the cameras and complain about everyone. 

A typical day consists of getting the cafe ready for the day. Once everything is ready you work alongside a barista or junior to make sure customers get their early morning coffee. throughout the day if you're not making drinks or food then you are taking customers orders to their table. once the customer has finished you take the dishes to the washer and wipe the tables down. Basically you learn a number of roles and help out where you can and have a good time doing it :)

A typical day at work usually involved taking orders from customers upholding customer service guidelines. Taking food and drinks out to the customers involved us to interact with the local community. The management of the store was positive in most areas of my employment period apart from general cultural diversity and salaries. The most enjoyable part of the job would be serving customers and either meeting them for the first time or seeing the regular ones.

Do yourself a favour and don’t work here unless you want to micro-manage a company.  The owners of this store expect SO much from you but are fine giving you no hours. 

There’s no manager but owners expect you to basically manage it yourself with your fellow casual employees and then get mad when things aren’t done or ordered correctly. 

No lunch breaks when you’re busy on a Saturday, work a 9.5 hour shift with not even a 10 min break because you don’t have time. 


I started working here when I moved up to QLD and thought that this would be an awesome opportunity to expand my waitressing and coffee making skills. 
It was the complete opposite. The culture is overall bad and the older workers are bullies. They underpay you and expect you to stay back past your paid shift. 
The both of the managers are bullies and mock new people who come in. Would not recommend working there. 


This cafe goes through so many staff, just think maybe it's not the staff you're hiring but the management/owners who run this "cafe" 

If you don't acknowledge your staff or even their existence once you've hired them, how do you even expect them to work to your standard if you just watch the CCTV cameras in the kitchen in your spare time.

Top of the list for an ignorant boss.

This shop can get very busy, very fast. 
The senior staff is very helpful and patient. It’s very fast paced environment. Unfortunately, some junior staff can make it a bit challenging, so if you not up to a speed service, I wouldn’t recommend to work here. I really enjoyed the time working there as you were never bored, learnt to do different jobs and there was always something to do. 


Fellow staff are super helpful and encouraging. Management sometimes wouldn’t even address you. The managers make mistakes themselves yet have no grace for new people learning. Don’t be surprised if you get let go even if you are doing great!
