As a company Creative Activation(CA) sets the gold standard, a typical day as a Visual Merchandiser for CA is a store visit. As with everything CA does store visits are well organised with any material needed provided beforehand or already at store, with all of the planning and training taken care of before you arrive at the store it is quite easy to perform the tasks required of you and if you ever get stuck there is an ever helpful team of energetic staff willing and able to help you at every step. Through CA I have gained exceptional time management and problem solving skills as would anyone working for such a encouraging community of people. The management is nothing short of fantastic, with the leadership team doing everything they can to make sure that the job goes smoothly and that everyone is comfortable and up to date, a good example of this was our Christmas party where the management staff organised a fantastic night not only to enjoy ourselves but also to make new connections and expand our horizons. The hardest part of working for CA is familiarizing yourself with each new store that you visit. The best part of working for CA is knowing that regardless of any issue you may come across you always have a team of lovely people to help out.

I sadly did a job for this third-class organisation going out of my way (which was very stupid of me) and all they did was cancel my pay on a meager technicality for which they claim to have proof of

I picked this job as I was new to the country and I wanted to earn some cash because I was unemployed. Now as i started working at a good company, I understand how low and third-class these guys were to do such an unethical derogatory act to someone in that situation.

The cream of the joke is, even if they DID pay me, I would have only earned $20.30 (gross pay) - $14 (approx. bill amount) - $3 (approx. incremental transportation cost) = $3, which is peanuts. And I had to spend close to one hour on it!

They underpay people, and on top of that try petty tricks to rob them off of a mere $3 earnings! God only knows how these guys live with themselves.

If you are hard up for cash, work at a more respectable organisation such as Woolworths or Coles or wherever so that you have clearer guidelines, better payment policies, and higher rate payments. I would NEVER recommend working for this Ponzi employment scheme.

I am a casual mystery shopper with these guys. The only thing I love about this is the flexibility they offer. You can jump in online and pick up a job when and where you wanted. Apart from that everything else is a con. So they give you a rating out of 5 star for every report you submit. Their evaluation team seems to have come from the world's best grammar school . They mark you down for full stops and not starting a line with a capital letter. They do not understand that the content is the crucial part of the report.So  do not be surprised if the knock back on your report and ask you to do it again. The average pay is around  $20-25 per visit and you will spend close to one hour including the visit and the time you take to complete the report . Please note sometimes you will have to buy something as well as a part of the job. ( The cost of which is already included in your CPC ) . The hardest one is their customer experience research where they ask you to think from the perspective of a real customer. And when you do your reports based on your own experience they will knock it back in case if does not please them . So ya not so worth it !

I have worked for Creative activation for the last 3 years as a shopper and I have completed close to 200 jobs.

I have largely done this job to earn some extra cash or to get free food. At the start it was a good side job. Sometimes I was able to do 6 jobs in a week and earn a reasonable sum.

After two years there were barley any jobs and if I ever needed to contact the staff for support or to clarify information they were impossible to contact (even after numerous phone calls, emails and messages).

Then I started to get 3 star ratings on reports which I had done 30+ times and had always gotten 5 stars for. When I confronted them they rectified it and apologised but it just kept happening. It was pretty annoying getting marked down for no apparent reason.

I am still on a 4.5 star rating but with the few jobs that come up coupled with the annoyance of dealing with the 'support team' I am looking for another company to do mystery shopping for.

Reading some of the other reviews I completely agree. Advertised as autonomous and flexible, it's not. Unpredictable hours, many weeks you'll not be able to complete the assigned workload and have to request help from another store. Suddenly your flexibility is constrained by someone else's availability. Moreover, you'll be expected to return the favour. An hour's travel time to get to another store, no biggie. So if travel appeals, maybe it's for you? Minimum training, but as long as you can read a compass and know how to boil water, you'll navigate the rest. But when unforeseen tech issues arrive, and they do, management don't have your back. I felt unappreciated and never came home feeling like I had a good day. Coles staff and management are great but they're not your employees. I've made more $ per hour minus all the stress and unrealistic limitations. All tasks are timed an and documented in an app. Ready, set.. no thanks. And the relentless emails, did I mention those? 

There is no end to the number of problems I have had with this company.  

I complete jobs correctly, the system says I've been paid but the money isn't in my bank account.

I complete jobs correctly, but the neighbouring shops change names and the validation team automatically assume the worst, stupidly accuse me of visiting the wrong shop because the neighbouring shops have changed and then refuse to pay me.

I complete a job and make a single mistake. I pay by eftpos instead of cash and the validation team refuse to pay me.  I lose time, mileage and I've spent $35 on a stupid edible product that I never wanted.

Be very careful about working here , the place is run by a bunch of idiots and I've had enough.  I'm considering legal action.

The reimbursements are overrated once you factor in mileage.  Mileage is included in the cost and remember this isn't just gas, it's the brake pads wearing out, part replacement etc.  The pay really isn't worth it, considering the time it takes to complete the shop and then go home and answer tons of questions.

I took on this job as a bridge role from working at Nespresso in Boutiques and Pop Up Shops. Look, although I know my stuff Nestle-wise, I was grossly underprepared for the Brand Ambassador role. In the weeks leading up to me starting the role I’d given many days I was available for my induction, however they only scheduled it the night before I was supposed to begin my role. I was not set up on the various software for reporting & expense claims until days into the job. I’m continually confused at what I’m supposed to do and the Field Managers are often unavailable or on leave. Although they are very nice, I’m not confident I’m being given the support and treatment I deserve. Expected to cover expenses like milk and cleaning products for a whole month before reimbursement. Have also needed to do a lot of unpaid hours to catch myself up on the training and reporting. Most of the time, I’m using badly designed emails as my training resource. More stress than it’s worth. Most disorganised place I’ve worked. 

Initially enjoyed mystery shopping with CA. Conditions and jobs available declined rapidly. Extremely nitpicky with written reports, job payment declined for the rare missed punctuation or misspelled word. Payment declined if the location picked me out as the mystery shopper. Took too much effort on my end to complete jobs for utterly paltry pay. Head office staff were not supportive or appreciative. Didn't provide any assistance when requested, could not be reached by phone or email when needed. Staff would not respond to queries in a timely manner. Don't bother wasting your time with this company, you'll regret it very quickly.

I had to have extensive knowledge of the phones i was selling.  Ie all features.  I was responsible for rostering and meeting sales targets.


Had fantasic support from upper management and other kiosks.  We would all post to a site any sales with booyah and if a sale was declined due to credit a boo wah.

When my site was closed i was transfered to shepparton for 3 days and sold 3 plans in 4 hours compared to the previous staff members zero sales in 4 weeks.  I was also requested by a melbourne store,

Best part of the job was talking with people and matching their needs to a phone and helping work the phone when required.

Hardest part of the job was getting approval for contracts in a noisy environment (the shopping centre)

This company is good and appreciative of their ground workers. They give clear and easy to read instructions and the portal is systematic and easy to use. Although the pay is not very high, they don't burden the shopper with tedious questionnaires. and are fair in evaluating the comments you submitted and will send it back to you with comments for editing, not striking your honest hard work immediately like some other company.

To any company looking to  hire Creative Activation for their evaluation services, this company is highly recommended because they have got a good system and are supportive of their shoppers.
