My primary duties as a sales and service consultant were to find the right policy for people looking for health insurance. I worked with Avaya and took inbound as well as outbound calls. I was able to find the clients need in every phone call and match them to a policy that would best suit them and their family. I compared for a lot of different people in a lot of different circumstances; from young singles to mature couples, and from single parent families to full family covers. I built rapport throughout the calls and was able to connect with the client and build up a relaxing and trusting atmosphere for the client. I love working with people and highly enjoyed working here.

A typical day at Compare the Market includes being frightened you will be threatened your job or screamed at due to more miscommunication.
You won't know what day is ahead as it is very bipolar, and I suggest if you work here, you will not have help if you are suffering or falling behind, only the strongest and best will survive. 
Commission is rarely paid out as QA is now too strict compared to what it was before. 
If you are a female you don't have any chances to really succeed. 
If you care for your physical and mental health, I suggest look elsewhere.

- A relatively secure job as long as the company does not change course quickly
- Most of their initiatives are Hit and Miss with no methodological growth
- Fun, laid back environment if you want to just pass time and not grow as a person

CTM had a good environment. A typical day at a CTM outbound team would be making lots of calls. The system is automatic, so the dialer calls the customers for you. Sometimes it's busy sometimes there are waiting times between calls. There is a 30 min lunch break. Most people make money from working OT, the top 5% of the company wins the "leaderboard" money.

Ive enjoyed working at CTM, but the work I am doing is very basic / not challenging for me personally, and consequently the pay is also below my usual expectations. The work location is very convenient, and the office environment (people, accomodation etc) is excellent

I was privy to warm leads because of my ability to hit sales targets regularly. Then I took two sick days off and was fired. 

It's a boiler room which is fine, but you don't fire someone for being sick. I wasn't even paid sick leave so it's not like they were losing money.

I haven't been fired before or since and that includes several high pressure jobs involving sales targets.

Team leaders always running sales technique activities and there for support/improvement. Pay and benefits are good. Call centre is big and spacious, overall I really enjoyed my time spent working at CTM.

Compare the Market is by far the best company I have worked for in a sales role. They give great incentives that are easy to get if you simply just do your job and the culture in the office is unmatched, everyone is constantly laughing and having a good time. 


Not for me. no structure to grow. Important to be better than I am but was never going to achieve that. Everything was about cost not development. However they spent money in silly non develop permanent roles . Its a shame

The workplace is like no other. The culture and how everyone gets behind you when your exceeding is amazing! The daily incentives are also a bonus, who doesn't love a free gifty!
