CLA are a very unethical company! They are negligent and very restrictive with their clients. Management are often very disrespectful towards the family members of their clients and encourage the support workers to choose sides. They have no standards and will hire anyone regardless of how incompetent they are which puts their clients at great risk.  Their SRL day program is a joke clients are forced to attend but they rarely do any activities besides watching tv or colouring in. CLA would rather leave clients unsupported than pay overtime. 

Started out well then got progressively worse. Management is atrocious, don't care about staff concerns, clients wellbeing or how much the clients are getting ripped off by people that are meant to be helping them. No coordinator on site, situated in another part of the state and has no clue about the staff or the clients and staff are left with 3 team leaders who have no clue what they are doing or knowledge of the clients. Loyal workers that have been there for 12 years or more are taken no notice of in regards to clients. It's a shambles and I would not recommend anyone to work there.

Management have a habit of burying their heads in the dirt when issues arise. Employ sub standard Support Workers with little or no experience. Buddy shifts are basically a meet and greet then it's sink or swim. Their overall agenda is to keep their costs down at the expense of proper person centred care. Started off good but quickly deteriorated. No support from Team Leaders who tend to throw things into the 'too hard basket' then things fester and become major issues then staff leave in frustration.

Management of Murray bridge office brings down the morale of the whole company. MANY workers leaving due to her unpleasant attitude, talking down on people, not listening to workers or clients and just trying to be involved and completely in control of stuff that she doesn't need any involvement in. Manager will also tell you the job comes BEFORE your mental health when the company preaches about workers mental health. Do NOT work here until current manager is gone.

In my honest opinion, Started out good with a thorough and professional intake but soon after the positivity waned as the company culture became apparent. Lack of support, poor worker morale, poor work performance and bad employee behaviour seemingly swept under the rug all at the expense of client and personal well-being. Walking on eggshells type environment, too many chiefs and conflicting rules and standards. 

Would not recommend working for this company they offer you plenty of work but don't actually give you the hours full of promises but don't deliver great workers at times very poor management across the board very restrictive in many areas left after many years not even a thankyou stay clear 

The organisation is  comprised of numerous teams that are supportive and cohesive and managed by carefully selected managers with excellent leadership skills. A recent restructure has created many new positions and improved performance and increased job security.

Rostering and also being thrown in the deep end and not enough help 

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Work environment can be very clicky and moral is down

Sadly in the time I have worked there things have gone downhill.
Management have become toxic and as such morale has suffered.
I don't wish to see what it will be like in coming years with how fast things have changed negatively in the time I have worked there.
It's Sad to see, we have lost a few clients and workers and it's just not the place I started working at.


I had fun working with Community Living as I learnt new skills and I also learnt how to use proper safety gear (ppe) at work and I also learnt how to use facilities and machinery such as wipper sneepe, ride on machine and push mower.
