This has been a very challenging role for me. Collections is very demanding. I have been here for almost 9 years and in that time have learnt so much. This company is secure and trades on the ASX. If you are looking for a role with longevity and are willing to do the hard yards with a view with promotion to management then I recommend this company. 

Co-workers are lovely people and are definetly a special breed. 
Im an currenty an Agent Coodinator, this means that I coordinate and manage 3 external agencies of Mercantile agents that action motor finance accounts with a view of either bringing the accounts up to date or possibly repossessing our clients security from customers who have broken thier contracts. The aim is to resolve the accounts and bring them back into good steed.

A typical day for me can mean taking lots of calls from repossession and field agents also customers who have an agent there with a tow truck. Processing reports, invoices and searching for skipped customers on various databases including Veda Advantage. I use multiple databases including external client databases. I also use Microsoft Office and Collection House's own software. I also recommend customers for hardship and assist with the application process and in the event that we cannot locate a customer I review and recommend the accounts for write off and possible legal action and debt sale.

Collection House Ltd provides employees with training with the view of promotion, it also provides attractive salaries, great bonuses and many other incentives.

High level of inbound and outbound calls dealing with customers which has defaulted on their car loans. Through negotiation we would determine the reason for default and provide options such as a payment arrangement, hardship or refer for repossession.  

Management is generally supportive but very clicky within their group.  There are roles such as assistant team leaders and team leaders.   Not sure what the role of a team leader has been at this point of time as the assistant team leaders seem to be the more supportive people.  

The training that was provided didnt really match the work either.  I was told that they met bonus 9 out of 12 months.  I have been there about 5 months as never received bonus.  They offer prizes as well and still waiting for a prize I won in June despite asking numerous times.

I would review accounts to ensure staff were actioning them properly, I would also monitor call recordings to ensure policies and procedures were being adhered to. I would also identify areas of improvement and conduct refresher training. I would also train new staff.
I learned that I can impart knowledge well and engage new staff.
Some co-workers were jealous that I was promoted and they weren't, so they would make my job as hard as possible, but most staff were wonderful. 
The most enjoyable part of the job was imparting knowledge to new staff.

Management are not very supportive or understanding, not much direction as to what’s going on within the company or your actual role. Serious lack of training before you are taking calls and no one to reach out to for help, unless your team are supportive and willing to help, which is NOT always the case here. The only positive is the ability to work from home 3 days a week and some of the other staff within the company that also make it tolerable. However for the most part, avoid at all costs!

The company culture is great! Many opportunities to be promoted within and recognized for your hard work and achievements. Easy going environment but always fun if you like a challenge. Great bonuses and commission. The management is very good about listening and taking your interests into consideration when assigning projects and setting long-term career goals. The atmosphere there is amazing and everyone is very friendly. I learned so much that I am very grateful for.

A good day at the office.  Co Workers very respectful to one another.  Management always on hand to assist with any problems that my arise.  All employees has the opportunity to further themselves. The company is very understanding to employees needs.  All my knowledge has been gained through this company.  The volume of work is huge but not difficult to complete.  It is a relaxed environment which makes it easy to complete all daily tasks.  There is incentives offered to the staff.  I have enjoyed working for the company & only ceased employment because of retirement.

This was one of the worst places I have ever worked. The culture is toxic. The "leadership" team is more a dictatorship where the only thing that matters is the bottom line. 

Employees are offered superficial benefits like cake every month to celebrate birthdays and Christmas party. However, there is little concern for the employees well being. There is no job security even within the "leadership" team. During my short tenure, I saw more than 3 "leaders" leave as they didn't agree with the CEO.

Kpi's are more important then the mental health and development of there staff. Specific departments don't offer much advancement for a career due to department heads either hiring for leadership from outside the company or other departments, or because leadership will give a position to someone they want instead of interviewing candidates for a position. Some departments also possess a lack of care for there current staff and treat them as if they are expendable.

Management bully and Harass you like no tomorrow. Poor management/ HR. Low income pay. Toxic work place avoid unless you like your mental health played with. Management will falsely accuse you of things without hard evidence. Managers/ HR will try and fire you if you make a complaint. The company does not value or respect employees just more concerned about their fat pay check.

I learned to help and listen to the customer, understand their situation and then leave them happy at the end of the day

The hardest part of the job was when we would have difficult custimers wanting to take things to a higher level when it was out of our control and not much we could do about the situation\

The most enjoyable part about the job was being with my team and helping each other strive and to meet targets

Management wasnt too bad.
