The institution's work culture is marred by unattainable expectations from management, who believe employees can complete 10-12 hours of work within a 7-hour window. While accruing flexi-time is necessary to fulfill job duties, employees face repercussions when utilizing this flexibility. Fear permeates the atmosphere, with leadership lacking an understanding of the job's demands. Those who adhere strictly to their hours without accruing flexi-time are unfairly labeled as lazy, fostering a culture that stifles addressing workload concerns without fear of retaliation.
Moreover, a perpetual sense of urgency prevails, with competing priorities creating an environment of high stress. Despite this strain, the institution fails to acknowledge that the incessant pressure and competing demands lead to multiple staff departures or even breakdowns. There's a lack of recognition from the institution regarding the adverse impact of the work culture on its employees' well-being, perpetuating a cycle where these issues go unaddressed and unresolved.

Management seeks compliance akin to robots, discouraging any form of questioning or autonomy. Unfortunately, there's a notable lack of regard for the skills and expertise of the workforce. What was once a positive workplace has devolved into toxicity, eroding the respect and satisfaction employees once had. 

There's a clear bias towards favoring younger and more malleable staff members who can be easily influenced. The institution seems to prioritize individuals who are more impressionable, potentially at the expense of experienced personnel, perpetuating a culture where new ideas take precedence over seasoned expertise.

CSU offer pay lower than comparable positions in other organizations. The university capitalizes on the geographic entrapment of its staff, recognizing that seeking alternative employment necessitates uprooting from their current place of residence. This circumstance further contributes to a sense of being trapped or constrained within the institution.

What is the best part of working at the company?
Fantastic working conditions with good salaries. Flexible working hours - 7 hours during 7am to 7pm as approved by supervisor. Able to work 2 days at home and 3 days on campus. 

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Unequal distribution of workload throughout the year. Peak time just before, during and immediately after a teaching session. There are 3 sessions per year

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Top heavy in management  and insufficient number of staff to do the foundation work.

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Busy responding to emails from students and academics. Also some phone responses.

What is the best part of working at the company?
Pay and conditions were good. Great people to work with.

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Poor organization, management can often but not always be pretty hopeless, the staff run the place not the managers.

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Work environment is good but often people would have to do flexi time to get their work finished and then be in trouble for having too much flexi time up. People making the rules that have no idea what is going on.

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
often good but also very frustrating at times due to the lack of managerial skills.

Being a PASS leader was challenge in the beginning as it required techniques to engage students in subject effectively. This job is not about teaching students but its to facilitate them or in other words creating spark in their minds to solve problems on their own. Group discussions and activities helped me and my students in gaining more confidence not only in the subject but in our personality.
Sometimes it's difficult to motivate students for such sessions as it requires extra effort and time. Whenever I see my students coming up with solutions of their problems or other fellow students queries it gives me a great feeling of satisfaction.

The university will work in the hours to fit it in with whatever I am doing at the time.
I work solo with up to 35 students in a class though this year it has changed to be a workshop just one afternoon.
The hardest part about the job is the size of the class as normally to teach sign language there would be a maximum of about 12 in a class.
I enjoy tutoring about understanding Deaf people as it enables me to encourage more people to have more empathy and understanding

Early starts, early finishes. (5am-8am)

Set tasks to be done daily, every second day, weekly and monthly. 

High focus on quality and detail, I’ve learned so much. Management are wonderful, depending on the stress level they’re under. 8/10, they are so helpful, fantastic and accommodating. The staff are wonderful, so friendly, relaxed and hard working. 

The only con I have is that I would love more hours, due to the cost of living being abominable right now. 

It was a great experience for me as i have learned how to work with people in all sorts of life. From directors, students, to suppliers. 

•	Facilitated, supported and coordinated all activities of the student council
•	Headed the promotion for extra-curricular programs for the students
•	Planned and arranged all meetings with the members
•	Help the students in their issues and problems
•	Represent the Melbourne Campus in the inter-campus meetings

Set up and clean up of bar and bistro, clearing tables. Management and co - workers both easy to get along with, everyone manages to remain calm even when its really busy and the lines at the bar seem never ending.

Hardest part of the job would be dealing with difficult patrons who have had a bit too much to drink, however I have learnt how to deal with these patron in an effective manner now. Most enjoyable part of my job would have to be the people I work with.

Co-workers were great. The hours which I worked fitted in well with family life. We processed exam papers during exam periods, sending and receiving exam papers from around the world and all over Australia. Most difficult part now is lack of work available due to budget cuts.

Lack of support from management with big egos. 
The work expectations for no pay is unreasonably. The workload gets bigger and bigger and when you want to be paid for the work full timers should be doing next time you don’t get offered work. 
Good for yes people who enable exploitation. 
If a person fails students they mark over top so they pass as it’s a  ‘University directive’ which compromise quality and integrity
