Hours 8am - 5pm - Fast paced, full on, no time to be bored.
Every day is different as all claims are different.

Organized, attention to detail, time management skills required.

Co-workers - we are a small team - Consisting of Workers Compensation Manager, 2 Case managers, a Claims officer (accounts) and an Administration assistant. We are always willing to assist each other when required.

The hardest part of the job is having to deal with constant system issues, and as IT are based in the Head office in Melbourne the time difference can be somewhat frustrating.   

The most enjoyable part of the job is knowing that through open communication, encouragement, and timely management of the portfolio of claims throughout each day, I can go home with the knowledge that I have given 100%.

Complete lack of document management and workflow systems for the area where I worked. As a result there are no KPIs and no way to effectively manage workflow. Some people are snowed under, others have too much time. Many of the people are lovely to work with but if you try to enact positive change, you'll meet a lot of resistance. They make a lot of promises and never fulfil them. There's a culture of giving employees just enough hope to string them along without ever delivering and then gaslighting them.

There is a definite reason why there is a high turn over rate and it has little to do with the content.

Coffee Truck  coming to the office,  coffee was lovely and the staff from the truck were great

Toxic office clicky  groups  worked longer hours as not enough staff to do work

Toxic and staff are clicky and expect you too work long per hours 

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Horrible and felt like on egg shells all day

One of the most dis organized companies I have ever worked with.
Training so they call it was a waste of time and very disorganized. 
Wasnt made to feel very welcome on first day.
Expectation regardless of personal commitments outside of work to work 1 day a week in the office. No room for negotiation.
Not a great first impression for a new starter.


I have been here a long time but after 4 restructures in 4 years and lack of direction from management, I have had enough.
The company used to be about caring and helping people. They still talk about this but treat the staff very badly. They just made a bunch of really good people redundant and now can't replace them which leaves the rest to carry the slack. Staff morale is at an all time low, including mine. Such a shame.

Even for a short stay as a temp, I've learned to tackle things and time management.  People around the office are friendly and helpful. I have not experience any hardships in the job because I've been very focus and committed to my work.  I enjoy everyday working at Catholic Church Insurance...wish i will get a chance again to work there as full-time.

Working for Catholic Church Insurance has been an absolute pleasure. The team environment, as well as the management is extremely supportive in every way and I can only highly recommend working for them.

This company is in follow on, which means for insurance it is now winding up all as a result of its primary customer.  This is a result of poor management decisions, no risk management and it has cost the company its ability to continue

Vast culture shifts over the past 24 months have made this a dynamic, client focused, fast paced work environment.  Change management is a significant issue.

From the CEO down they have no idea what they’re doing. The treat people terribly. Check their staff turnover. This is not an insurance company so if you are an insurance professional don’t go here.
