I rather enjoyed my job when I first started working there. However, when the boss resigned and a new one took over, everyone's hours were cut drastically, I went from doing about 30hrs a week to 6hrs, the numbers of staff on at one time was reduced, the amount of work you had to perform quadrupled, the amount of time you had to do tasks reduced, and staff were having to perform certain duties on their own that required a minimum of two people due to the manual handling and one person in particular got injured because of it. Workers were skipping their breaks because they would fall further behind in their unrealistic tasks and timeframes if they took their break.

I became very unwell from all the stress and I soon resigned, so I don't know how much has changed since then. But at the time it wasn't good at all.

Covid 19 , working in PPE , communication due to masks

Great staff to work with mostly. Too many changes to adapt to with hours cut but with more work to complete. A lot of unhappy staff but have made  some great friends. Caring for the Residents was my major concern, keeping their living areas as clean as possible.

The treatment there by management and other staff after being diagnosed with cancer was very poor, even to the effect of my job being in jeopardy. 
Even after all treatment being arranged to happen outside of work hours
After going to the bathroom, was constantly being told to wash my hand even after doing so.
And being told to wear 2 sets of gloves atonce

Management and staff communicate effectively, you can feel their genuine support especially when you’re new. People work as a team, positive team dynamics. Team continuously strive to improve practice. Wages are not very high but adequate. Well compensated for overtime work and offer lots of paid trainings.

Dreadful workplace  culture from the top down.  Staff are overworked and underpaid.  They are constantly trying to underpay and are so disrespectful.  They are constantly expecting you to work extra hours as they are so understaffed.  Absolutely toxic place.
DO YOURSELF A FAVOUR AND WORK ANYWHERE ELSE!

Not a nice place to work. More interested in KPIs and box ticking than actual residents wellbeing. Poor nurse to resident ratios, PCs understaffed, not a nice environment. Roster changes without notice then abuse when don't show up to shifts you didn't know about. (Paper roster in staff room) 

-Resident need mental support where its possible.
-learn to love and care for people.
-good team work.
-lovely and affectionate co-worker
-dealing with dementia patient is the hardest part of the job.
daily activities is enjoyable part of the job

to much back stabbing and unermining by other staff members and the manager turned a blind eye. anyone who works at summit must have union support. the residents are amazing, some co-workers are mean
