Great company.  Only "new" in the area.  The Company is supportive and extremely down to earth.  Shift work, sometimes continuous for over a 24 hour period.  Called in at late notice.  General shift is either a full day of 8-10 hours and a sleep over is usually all night until the next shift comes on.  When child is unsettled, staff have to implement a plan to keep the child occupied, despite the violent outbursts towards staff and people in the community.

Medication (qualified at all times)  is extremely important and the well being of the child is paramount, making sure there is no threat to the young person's safety at all times, for when and if the person absconds.  Extremely high category of behavioural needs and supporting a family based environment for the person in own residential out of home care.

CareSouth feels like a family. The work is challenging and heart felt. Working with children can often be stressful, but it's nice to have a supportive team that understands.
I love the work and the autonomy to achieve the creative ideas we come up with. 
I have read a lot of negative reviews on here and felt it was not an accurate description based on my experience. Working at CareSouth has been my favourite place of employment. I feel valued, supported, respected and I love my team. 
The current management are collaborative and genuinely care about everyone from clients to staff.
Highly recommend working here.

The pay rate is the only good thing about this company.

No support from managers. Violent kids. 

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
The work environment is toxic, all the managers are friends with each other and give preferential treatment

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Arrive to shift, wake kids for school, administer medication, transport to school, activities, family contact visits. Household duties.

Been at the Wollongong office for several years now.  CareSouth have this great advertising campaign, the social media and advertising make it look so great.  Unfortunately it's all show.  Management are very toxic and staff turnover is ridiculously high.  It's sad seeing the great workers come in, work their butts off, get burnt out then pushed out the door.   Also one of the lowest paying agencies in the area.  Wouldn't recommend sorry.

Unfair, protective of those in higher places

Stressful , very little education for staff

I have 22 years experience performing at many levels. Great presentation due to fabulous marketing. However, they do not practice their values. The culture and moral is low. The executive level are the most incompetent I have ever come across and result to bullying. Take this as a clear warning - walk away from the moment you read a application!

Management do not care about staff’s needs unless it furthers their own schemes. 
People and culture ignore complaints and refuse to support people but are happy to punish people. 
Management often absent when needed. 
Management are happy to gossip about others but then gossip themselves. One rule for them.
Other issues but won’t bring them up here. 

Worked in the IT department where it was really easy going and a great work environment, they have really moved forward over the past few years I would recommend caresouth as a job to anyone.

I have been employed by CareSouth for less than 12 months. I have found the team to be friendly and the team leaders and managers to be supportive. Love my job and love working with CareSouth. 

Staff are caring and everyone is passionate about their role and supporting one another in a difficult line of work. 
There is great work/life balance, including flexible work arrangements
