Management were quite casual, liberal and open to ideas.
My job was on commission which was a challenge but very rewarding.
I worked independently and had to overcome my shyness to talk to people and this was a great learning experience for me. I no longer have any reticence about talking in public.
I learnt that people are surprising and can make your day.
The hardest part was talking to people about cancer and I would often have a tear in my eye.
There were days full of laughter and days that were tearful. 
I enjoyed the challenge of working on commission because there was always room for improvement.
The connection with strangers who became friends was invalueable.

GOOD AND FRIENDLY WORKING ENVIRONMENT. •	Managing till, billing, packaging, customer service and cash.

•	Managing and training and motivating staff to carry out tasks set.

Lovely people, it’s never boring

I can’t think of anything stressful about it, it’s a great place to work.

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
The work environment is lovely.

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Depends on the day. You’re either on the till or helping out with stock in the back room.

For the biggest charity in the UK they treat you like dirt. Long, long hours which are mostly unpaid. Awful senior management that dictate rather than lead and no concept of H&S protocols. 
Working here damaged both my mental and physical health significantly. 

i really enjoy working at cancer research never a dull day always busy. The hardest part of the job would be working on tills alone when there is alot of people. The most enjoyable part of the job would be all the people you get to meet. a typical day at work is usually operating the till or round the back pricing the items we get in.

I was operating the till,cash handling,serving customers and sorting stock.

The management was good and friendly.

My co-workers were also friendly.

It was fun working here, and gave me some valuable skills, although the boss was not the easiest to work with they were rarely in when I was; however, all the other workers were lovely and very friendly.

Brilliant place to work because of the supportive and positive team dynamic.  Would recommend to everyone of all ages and background.  You will meet loads of interesting folk from all over the world.

Working at Cancer Research UK has been an excellent experience for me, I am able to give back and help out without being paid. Everyone is lovely and there's always plenty of work to do.
