Customer interactions are very quick. There is a lot to do, depending on the site. It can get very busy, and you may need to stare at a wall for a seconds just to take a break but it can also be really quiet and cruisy. 

Lots of on the job learning. I learnt a lot about customer service, and about how I interact with others as well. My communication skills have improved because as time goes on you feel less hesitation to ask people questions and you meet a myriad of personalities. Cleaning skills will also improve immensely. 

The management are quite good, but they are also dumped with a lot of work, so they're not very relaxed, and this can make it tough when you have a problem or you need to ask for their help. 

The workplace culture is very respectful. Everyone teaches everyone else. My co-workers have always had patience, I've never felt inferior or been spoken 'down' to. The hardest part of the job is multi-tasking between serving customers and managing the shop floor. There can be a lot to do, and a half an hour unpaid break on a 8 hour shift, is not enough to re-energize. 

The best part of the job is the people you work with and the customers. I've only had a handful of rude customers. Its really satisfying to work with someone you get a long with, and have customers who are interested in you as well.

A typical day was fast paced and very stressful, coupled with its fair share of challenges. Working with Caltex has given me the skills to thrive in the customer service industry. These skills range from excellent communication skills to superb problem solving skills. Management in Caltex is very caring and warm. They are always willing to help make your job smoother and really give a sense of not just the typical employer/employee relationship, but and friendship in which you can trust them to have your best intrests at heart. The hardest part of the job was the workload and hours. You worked essentially worked alone during your shifts. Your shifts would be from 5 to 6 hours long unless doing a bouble or even triple shift which could come to approximately 18 hours with no breaks. You were to complete all given jobs such as cleaning, stocking, paperwork, maintenance and serving customers. These varied during your shifts depending on how busy it could get. You never recived holidays and so you were expected to work on days such as public holidays and Christmas. This burden was lessened by the warm and caring staff. Over the course of my employment I have made lasting friendships with my employer, fellow employees and even customers. All in all Caltex is truely a pleasure to work for.

A typical work day at caltex would start off with me counting the til that was prepared for me ensuring the correct money was there.
From there it was straight into it making sure all products were stocked up, the store was clean and the customers were happy and had been attended to whether it was authorizing fuel and accepting payment, taking orders for meals, taking orders to tables and just putting through general store purchases.
While working at caltex i learnt what working in a fast paced environment was like and how to manage more then one task at a time.  
My co-workers were amazing people caltex was one of the best places i have worked when it comes to working as a team everyone got a long really well and helped each other no matter what it was.
I found the hardest part of my job was having a life outside of work.The hours that i worked where all over the place i found that if i wasn't working then i was resting to catch up on the sleep that i missed so that i was able to do it all over again. The most enjoyable part of my job would have to of been the fast paced work environment and my co-workers we all spent so much time together that we were like family.

a typacal day would include the regular cleaning of nthe bathroom, a daily clean of the fuel pumps and basic restock of shelves, along with mopping and other basic duties. i learned that the easy way isnt always the right way and i also learnt how to propperly clean the deep fryers, there were complex software systems on the cash registers that took a while to learn but that took aprok a month, the rest was easy and came naturally. the management was good, he always had me working, and he made sure thad i was doing everything correctly, along with helping out with the customer service on the busy days., the culture was desireable, with everyone getting along on most days with the exeption of one person who shall remain un named. the hardest part of the job was night shift, i was regularly on night shift apart from weekends, they were my afternoon shifts, whitch made it a little hard for my sleeping patterns and scotial life. the most enjoyable part was helping my customers, i knew what they wanted and they were happy when i gave them better deals than what they came for, eg, buying 2 small dares for $8 when there was a deal foe 2 large dares for $7, more fore less, but it was a good experience

A family owned business, friendly, clean and a super place to eat and supply tourists and the locals with a quality service of customer service and food.

I learnt many skills whilst employed here such as providing a high level of customer service, staff training, the efficient use of EFTPOS, cash handling, industrial cleaning of all facilities and utilities, the safe preparation and making of many types of food and beverages. The understanding of CCTV  systems and safe closing and lock up protocols of the business.

I worked along side my two bosses a husband and wife team, who are at the retirement stage so alot of the time i was the main staff member, i was relied upon quite abit and i handled this in a professional manner and provided my best in everything i did.

The hardest part of the job would be in peak season where we were understaffed and had a couple hundred of people through in one lunch period, it was extremely fast paced and required an intense amount of multitasking but i also enjoyed it at the same time it really gives you a sense of achievement knowing that everyone is satisfied and all these people will come back again.

I think there are no typical days for me ..but my typical day is that i got informed from a hospital that my friend met with an accident , at that moment i felt guilty that i can't see my friend at that moment it is my worst and typical day when i was in work.
i have many things in my work for example how to be patient at the time when the people irritate you asking so many questions , how to treat disabled persons ,how to speak and what to do in society ,what not to do.
my management is the best management that i had never seen in my work experience ,they order the products what we are necessary and they treat as thier friends by helping us in some sought of health problems and so
i shoud not say they are my co-workers they are my friends .they helped me to how to manage work + service .They are one part of my success.
The hardest part of the job is speaking with the persons who has drunk and do mess in the work.
My most enjoyable part of my job is customer service and refelling the confectionaries

In a petrol out let one is held responsible for the safety of the sight the people or customers using the sight as well as the products on show & that which is in the ground, petrol. So your day or shift starts with pleasantries with with the person you take over from as you count your $200. float through the pleasantries involved in customer service Ie, Greeting the customer establishing the sale the customers needs Reward cards through closing the sale & thanking them. All the time being aware that there may be a liquid spill in the show room a fuel spill on the drive way a shop lifter in your midst as well as some one doing a Drive off. Mostly your on your own self managed with above responsibilities if there is a co worker you swap on the console to control fatigue. the hardest part of the job is handling people who believe your a moving target or because you work in a petrol outlet your a numb skull or even the current fuel price is by some stray act of fate your fault.
One must be open minded patient & mentally able to cope.

A typical day at work is a busy 8 hours shift with a variety of work starting from Customer Service to Stock Management and Marketing Promotions. As I worked part time whilst doing my MBA, I was able to put my academic knowledge to the test and in the process, understand things from the Organisations perspective. Marketing promotions at the shop and reading about them in college side by side gave me a better understanding of how things work and the importance of marketing principles, organisation policies and procedures.

The hardest part of the job is stock management as it takes some physical strain and at the same time enjoyable as you get to be your own boss for the entirety of the shift.

A typical day at work would include serving customers, general cleaning and maintenance and cooking.
I learned about dealing with customers within fast paced environments.
I found the owner of the business constantly unsatisfied with my work, I believe he/she had a grudge against their employees as they consistently were undeservingly menacing towards me and others. After leaving and a new building being put up others have said this is no longer the case.
My co-workers were also very stressful and consistently blamed others for their own mistakes, but since the new building the staff has been considerably changed.
The hardest part of the job was the times something went wrong and the blame may be put on you, there were also the hard job of restacking stock with not help from others or trolleys.
The most enjoyable part of the job would be that the many customers would mean that the day went by fast.

- My typical day at Caltex was serving customers for fuel, food and groceries, opening and closing of the store, counting daily intakes, stock rotation, checking and marking off deliveries, food preparation, etc.
- Learnt how to become a console operator (fuel), also how to do the fuel and daily intakes. 
- Management was the best. Got along with them fine. They treated you and the workplace like family. Couldn't have asked for any better.
- The co-workers were all good to work with. Everyone got along with everyone fine. 
- The hardest part of the job was making sure you got the fuel dips right at the end of every night along with making sure the tills balanced plus making sure you locked and turned everything off properly.   
- The most enjoyable part of the job was how the bosses treated everyone like family and made sure everyone fitted in.
