Caffe Primo

A day as the manager of Cafe Primo began at 5:30am and would finish at 9:30pm.
I led a strong and capable team from breakfast to early supper with a plethora of coffees made in between.
A typical day would consist of;
the first and most important task - coffee machine was switched on
I then begin to prep the days menu which was organized the night before
I enjoyed working with a strong team that handled the busy pace of the cafe well
I handled every aspect of the business; I set the cafe up from a shell, employed and trained the staff, ordered stock, menu planning and preparation, cooking, beverage making, open and closing of the business, banking, staff wages, staff roster and customer service.
The worst thing about the job was the hours, as the manager I was there from open to close - six days a week.
The best thing about the job and enjoyed the interaction with both staff and customers.

A typical day at work consisted of greeting and serving customers as well as clearing their dishes and cleaning up when appropriate. 
I learnt how to think on my feet, as well as under pressure and notice when I was needed around the workplace. 
The management was friendly and approachable at all times, worked with them as co-workers rather than management. 
The work environment allowed co-workers to become friends with the ability to work together for maximum efficiency. 
I felt the hardest party of my job was keeping up with the fast paced work load, especially when serving food, throughout the week after coming from school. 
The most enjoyable part of the job was how easy it was to get along with both customers and co-workers making the workplace comfortable.

When I first started, it was a busy place. My co-workers and I got a lot done and we were always doing something, whether it was cleaning tables, serving food or serving the customers. Towards the end of my time at Primo’s, I did notice the business died down a lot. We didn’t have a lot to do, then unfortunately it went out of business. Over my time at café primo, my skills as a waitress developed a lot and I am looking forward to getting back to work.

There was an emphasis on customer service. The customer was always looked after and happy. The managing team were friendly and gave plenty of instruction and support. Skills were learnt quickly and I soon achieved a managerial role. There was support for the individual and the team. This fostered close relationships and great work ethic.

Staff members and regular customers are always friendly eventually you make a friendship seeing them out of work and learning of their life away from the cafe . I find myself  always learning something new. Very long days and many hours are a hard impact on life outside of work, though i do love the rush of being busy and looking back on all that has been accomplished.

having regular customers that come in and take time to see how you have been is extremely rewarding while working in a café. managing the waitresses is very easy as I treat them with respect and they do the same back. it is a nice place to work and as I have been there for a while now it has become a second home. 
the late hours do get testing sometimes and it can become quite tiring.

My time at Café Primo was fun and challenging. I learnt what the hospitality industry is really like. All other work experience I had, was at small cafes so there wasn't much rush. I was challenged on all aspects and had a lot of fun with other employees.

Very friendly and easy going bosses they are great people, as I suffer epilepsy they were really understanding and helpful when I had a sezuire or could not come to work they would work around me, until I was well enough to go back to work and always paid well 

Terrible ownership. Terrible pay rates. Terrible management. Terrible owners. Terrible treatment. Terrible all in all out

Bosses are a joke. No idea about hospitality. Treat their staff badly. Under pay them all.
