CaSPA Care

CaSPA Care has a great group of staff and the residents are all beautiful people with great stories on life. Based on this alone it would be a fantastic place to work. Management are however quite horrible and tend to stand over or look down to staff and they do not represent their company values at all which are Teamwork, Honesty, Compassion, Accountability, Communication and Respect. From upper management there is definitely no Respect, Compassion or Honesty which is unfortunate as they preach these values to staff but then don't use these values themselves. There is quite a bit of bullying behind the scenes from upper management but in saying that if you can get past this the floor staff are great and the residents are lovely so its a shame management are the way they are as it would be a fantastic place to work otherwise.

The staff on the floor are lovely, friendly and resident focussed. The staff behind the scenes in the basement are also great and go above and beyond. The upper management lead by the CEO and her side kick puppy are bad. They harass, intimidate and bully staff out of their job, simply because the staff are to happy and friendly with each other and they see this as non productive and that this must mean no work is getting done. This is especially evident in cooking department, cleaning and laundry departments. The CEO would rather outsource these departments so she can further stand over staff in these areas. These managers really look down on staff here which is sad as it would be a great place to work otherwise.

Facility in South Melbourne is nice. Residents and families are mostly nice and great people. Salary sacrifice is good. Human Resources…… well, they are very selective in who they like or dislike. Staff on the dislike list will leave pretty quickly. The workplace culture is very bad amongst staff due to 2 years of mis management especially in HR. If your in the inner circle with HR that’s great, you will form a good bond and she will be all flirty with you but if you are on the wrong side, look out, you better find alternative work. It’s not a good workplace culture there. 

Unless you are related to people in management, you will be treated like a fool and lied to. Management want to go around preaching their "values" but don't follow any of them. CEO has stood over people since she started there to push them out. Now sacks whole teams to put contractors in. The atmosphere around the place is the lowest ever and will never get better with current management. So many great people have left or gone. Hard to understand why the board would allow this to go on. But on the good side, the residents and the other staff are great.

New CEO is really good! Listen and support staffs from the top to bottom.  The other way round HR and management are not quite listen to staffs and enjoy whatever they want to do. Even sometime pull the floor staffs on the meeting with unreasonable issue. That is the reason why there have a lot of staffs turnover, calling sick and mental health problem. It might be better if the organization focusing on HR department and investigate about this matter.

Our staffs, especially catering staffs get emails from humans resources to say no more sick leaves. Staffs have been in warning meetings when they took sick leaves and now we all get mail to say no more sick leaves or we will be in trouble if there is no a good reason why we calling sick. Most staffs feel scared to take a sick day, even when we have runny nose and coughing we don’t want to call sick as it might be warning meeting. This is not good or nice.

Working at Albert Park residences harder and harder. Less staff on now as management cut shifts so now staff calling sick and we have no one. Management making work to hard so everyone leave or they don’t come on shift anymore. Good staff go to South Melbourne and Albert Park left with nothing. Now remaining staff not coming either. All because cost cuts. Not good enough 

Chef really not good at cooking skills. Menu not really changes and foods not so nice now. Most meals a order in and chefs do not cook so fresh now. Head chef change all processes to buy foods in. When head chef cooking, we get lots of complains from residents and family’s. Food go down fast and it is very sad. 

Residents, staffs, building, facilitys are very nice good. but CEO and Humans Resources are very bad people. They treating staffs very badly and look down on everyones below on them. They make me and other staffs feel horrible and bad and we leave very upset and scared of our jobs in future. CEO is nasty a lot of times to lower working staffs.

Caspa Care is a good company to work. They provide free uniforms to staff and gives goodies on special events like Easter, Christmas Valentine’s Day. If staff only comes e to work and do the job then there are no unhappy staff.  The problem staff dont listen and follow the rules and get anger if they get in troubles. The pay is good and management approachable.
