CENTURY YUASA BATTERIES

Century Yuasa Was a great company to work for. this company i worked for 24 almost 25 years.I learned operations of various types of machines.Auto grid casting machines in operations with up to four operators running three machines each.Up to 12 casting machines.Also worked my way up to leading hand having responsibilities in decision making  working out issues with operators.assisting operators through machinery issues or learning issues.While maintaining a high level quality to our product we were making. We cast lead frame panels. each operator on a 10 hr shift cast up to 14.000 panels per machines.Operators in operations of three machines would produce up to 39.000 to 40.000 panels on a10 hr shift.This was a very challenging fast pace job.It was great working with a great team of workers with a high focus on quality procedures and team work.quality checks every 30 min involving weight checks-micrometer thickness checks-crack tests- flashing frames-lead antimony checks and many more.Management at Century were a great team.we allways were involved in tool box meetings to put our input forward and recieving feedback.sorting out majour issues.They also have  great incentive awards. To workers thinking up great ideas to improve work area practices.My enjoyable part of the job was to what skills i have learned and aquired through working with Century Batteries

Normal day, get to the dept at 7am load up 4 daily deliveries. Sort out run for the day. 
Knowledge I have learnt, how to up sell, how to resolve customer warranty issues quickly, time management, product knowledge.
Management skills have improved in the last 4yrs, now one of the team leaders (do most of the training of new staff).
Great people to work with, have made some good fiends.
The hardest part of the job the lifting some days it takes its toll, on  the other hand it can be a really great job.
The only thing against it is the limited advancement possibilities

the company is poorly managed and self centered. the main concern is not customer satisfaction it is just covering up every ones mistakes in order to have a clean stock take. the entire battery loading process is painstakingly slow and out dated. the drivers try their best just to be put down by management. only upside is its a great way to hand out resumes while on the road and get ones name out there by trying to deliver a good service despite managements best efforts to halt progress.

What is the best part of working at the company?
End of the day.As i no longer have to work with lazy or drunk people.

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Doing 90% off the work ,then get blamed for mistakes,by people that don`t work.

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
So much wrong,that is all i can say.Best job,worst people to work with.

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Stressful,hard to belive, i stayed for nearly a year.

I really loved working here.  The facilities manager was the best manager I have worked for, she's amazing, positive, she's easy to talk to or approach if you have any difficulties with work.  She gives you plenty of overtime and thoroughly trains you in all aspects of cleaning industrially.  You get uniforms, safety boots everything but your undergarments and a competitive rate of pay.  Like the dream job you have been waiting for.

What is the best part of working at the company?
The people and just the whole working environment 

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Not much, it's a greatly run business so stress is at a minimum 

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Fantastic, the culture and the environment is great

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Load truck in the morning, drive to location and unload stock

just dont bother working there it is horrible.you will be talked about behind your back and if you not like by certain people they will do all they can to make your job harder than it needs to be.

A typical day is load a truck with pallets of batteries and unload them at the customers address.
How to help customers with there needs.
Hardest part of the job was unloading all the pallets by hand and stacking them onto the customer's shelves.

I have enjoyed working for century yuassa batteries and I have had good feedback of my work from the company. I do not have a chance to take this job oppertunity further though as they are Sydney based.

hard work goes a long way take your time look at the task ahead and take everyday as it comes. and remember your smile can make someone else's day and cheers them up , and also remember you are the face of the company what you do affect things down the road
