Daily work was fun but challenging at times as you had different cultures and workmen opinions. It strengthen myself as an individual by overcoming those challenges by accepting and respecting workers to maintain a safe and healthy environment in the workplace. Management was good with some interacting with workers, offering rewards to workers for safe work and ideas. Workplace culture was tolerant to a degree that common sense among the workforce prevailed that workers conducted and supported each other/duty of care towards themselves and their mates conducting workplace hazards to ensure a safe workplace for all stakeholders. The hardest part of the job is to deal with supervisor's and health and safety personnel at pre-start to speak about work safety and daily task but don't follow up during the day to check up on workers, do inspections, interact with workers, however workers in groups overcome these little obstacles by supporting each other to do their work which they are paid to do, conduct their work to the best of their ability and to work safe.  The most enjoyable time of the day is to go home safe without any incidents, looking forward to a good meal, a swim, gym workout and good night rest.

Group huddles/ pre start meetings, morning reports on the job and the industries. Stretches.
Ensure correct JHA's with approved signatures and dates.
Sign onto right JHA's and permits (hot works/ cold works /confine etc..) Mobilisation / set up. Pre start all required tools and equipment.
Have good communication and work safely as well as looking out for your co-workers. Ensure water intakes regularly, heat stress awareness. Ensure correct barricading, signage, flagging and information tags. Demobilisation/ Ensure good housekeeping and waste management controls.
I learnt how to grind, weld, read designs assemble spools / flanges and tac butts together.
Management were the usual, rush you when there's no need to be rushed.
Co- workers were friendly and eventually become more like a family.
Hardest part of the job; Rain days!, Days goes so slow.
Most enjoyable part of the job is having ocean views all day, and also seeing all parts and components coming together into assembling into something that will take part in a grand scale of the project. It was good seeing modules and vessels getting built.

CB&I Kentz offer a variety of daily tasks, enabling constant stimulating work. Furthermore, each piece of equipment requires different procedures in order to complete tasks. This has broadened knowledge in regards to particular workplace processes as well as expanded on already acquired skills.

Management takes the utmost care in making sure all staff are informed of their tasks in detail and prides itself on the safety of its employees. The working environment and workers at CB&I Kentz is extremely cohesive and work together to complete daily tasks. 

The rural location provides its challenges with blistering heat coupled with long hours and time away from family. However, the positives of the job often outweigh the negatives. Working in such a cohesive environment with like-minded individuals enables workers to feel included. The process of always having the opportunity to learn new procedures with the variety provides motivation to complete a work cycle.

typical day at work was you came in had pre-start, completed all pre-work paper work e.g JHAs, take 5s ect and proceeded with the giving tasks assigned to you for that day.What i learnt and took away from the job is worth its weight in gold, from a different way of looking at a task to benefit time and effort used to complete it, to something little like using a new tool effectively. Management on the site where mostly good with sound knowledge in the filed they where leading. Co-workers i worked with were awesome and many of them taught me skills i can now use to be a better worker in the future, safety was always priority and doing a good job close second. hardest part of the job would have been the away from family but its not unbearable and its what you sign up for. my most enjoyable part would of been learning and having new challenges and opportunity's  and of cause the new friends i made

I've worked for CB&I a few times and they were excellent, I'd work for them again, 
Unfortunately there were some people in Barrows management who wanted to take all the credit and they didn't care who's lives they destroyed along the way. There were some really good people let go for minimal mistakes and depending on who's who in the zoo if your time was up, then you were moved on. No use being Honest and transparent. The management ruled in fear and never helped anyone advance in skills. absolutely no leadership. You liked it or you were sacked, and god forbid you had an opinion. So most people just clammed up. There was no uniformity, so you had supervisors and seniors giving different orders throughout the day without consultation with each other.
It was hard to watch and I was glad to get out of it along with some others, when they had the KULL.

CKJV is a joint venture between CB&I (Chicago Bridge and Iron) and Kentz Pty Ltd that has been awarded a contract by Chevron Australia Pty Ltd for the mechanical, electrical and instrumentation work on the Gorgon Project at Barrow Island, Western Australia. The overall project value is currently estimated at over 54 Bln USD. The scope of work refers to the construction of three LNG trains with a total capacity of 15 million tonnes per annum.

The Company's working environment is international and extremely stimulating, also thanks to the significant complexity of the project itself and to the variety of parties involved. This has definitely widened my professional horizons, mindset and operational tools.

The place was very good and the atmosphere was very  nice. A lot to learn from the job and you are learning from other tradesmen how they do their job very well and with professionalism and it was a lot of fun to work every single day.. The management was very good and how I wish I could still work with them again in the future, and the culture was beyond description. The hardest part of the job is the harsh hot weather in the workplace, especially during the hot summer season, but it was still controlled. It was an enjoyable job because of the different people all around the world working together and knowing their talents and abilities and skills on the job and their cultural background.

CKJV has given me a healthy insight to the oil n gas construction industry of which I started as a tradesman on the tools and further progressed to lead hand then supervisor then acting superintendant for all boilkermaker activities plant east from the LNG storage tanks to the load out jetty including works on the jetty aswell..
I have learnt many new aspects of my trade from daily activites such as planning work fronts to solving crew issues and work front issues.
Management provide a good support network for all activities and the tools to get the work done safely with quality outcomes.

Start at 6am, have pre-start meetings get given jobs for the day and go off and complete/finish. Learned to work with alot of different people and skills levels and work on of one of the biggest gas projects in the world. Mangement was very good with the way the jobs where set out, i also had a good relationship with the supervisors and other management. The co-workers where great to work with everyone worked together and help eachother. I didnt find anything hard about the job. The money and the RNR is wat i like the most about the job. job was also very rewarding most times.

It is place to call home away from home, its where friends are made and stories are told , where the money flows like the sun shine glow that showers us in gold, a future so bright it hard to see the light but i know its right. I would work at night and see the sight of the moon lit plant in all its might. Its impressive to see and a marvel to me how man and machine can work in harmony with the environment around, and keep it so sound , it is a pleasure to be apart of this team and apart of the construction industry .
