Unfortunately at my location, I wasn't trained competantly and was judged by nearly everyone. I have a few personal issues such as depression and forgetfulness and a heart condition. With confirmation I was okay to work there with such issues, it wasn't long before my 6 month probation was coming up. After being told I was permanent, I had recieved no written warnings but was sacked from the position. Though I did have my problems it was no excuse for how I got treated be some of the staff. Not all was bad though. A few of the staff were exceptional people, but unfortunately it was not enough. If you have no mental health issues then you should be fine to work there. But if that gets in the way then don't bother.

Progressed through the company and enjoyed my role and positions in the stores I worked at.
Like all businesses they change and evolve with the times.
However from being a caring compassionate family rum business Burson has now become very corporate.
To fit in you need to be a backstabbing snake, don't be surprised if another staff member tells lies and makes up stories to upper management.
You will end up with a target on your  back and a witch hunt until they successfully get rid of you.
Dot your I's cross your T's  and make sure you keep a diary and document everything and everyone.
Sad I dedicated my time when I got treated less than a number.

I loved being a driver at Burson. After a being there for a few years I had made some pretty awesome friends and workmates. Loved being on the road all day and not being stuck behind a desk! It can be pretty tough sometimes with workloads and delivery times and you will basically get paid peanuts for workin your butt off. Lost my licence through points then obviously lost my job as a driver, so was pretty devastated .. but in saying that .. I still loved what I did.

The philosophy behind the company is to make sure customers are being looked after, unfortunately, in reality, the company falls short.
Management needs to learn compassion towards staff and understand that not all staff live to work, some of us work to live. The CEO/Owner can't even be bothered to acknowledge the staff in the store while standing right next to them. Only seemed interested in talking to management.

Never receiving enough if any help when required

Can be very full on but overall it was a good experience

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
It was a challenge at times but enjoyable

Everyday was different and always busy, which I enjoy Immensely. I enjoy helping customers and being hands on in my job. The staff were very friendly and helpful.

Job culture isn’t that great. The more you do & are prepared to go the mile doesn’t matter as they will keep expecting more of you. They say they care about their staff but the staff members who make money for them, not the staff members who are the face & first point of contact,customer service (Delivery Drivers).

As a courier deliveries are enjoyable and pretty easy work, learned a lot about the area and the industry itself. recommend for a start in the automotive industry but not as a long term investment as a career

The most enjoyable part of my job is the constant variation in day to day operations. The ability to provide a convenience to aid in the operation of someone's business is a an overwhelming feeling.

As Burson Auto Parts is part of the Bapcor Group there are opportunities within the company for movement between jobs and advancement. The company is keen to hava staff that are multi skilled.
