From the start of a work day till the end of work I am constantly on my feet to meet the targets of the day. There is alot of pressure on me to keep the production of this Lab on target. 

I have started from the bottom and over the years have been promoted to Management, as Assistant Manager. 
I have learnt Sample preparation,Lab Supervisor and have worked in Fire Assay learning every area on site. Since being Assistant Manager I have learnt admin responsibilities,ordering consumables for all departments on site, organising the shifts daily, inducting new employees and filling in where needed.

There has been six Managers here since I started in 2006. The last 3 Managers I have been Assistant Manager to. They all have their own style of Management and have relied on me alot to get a feel for the job site and the employees. We are without a Manager at the moment and I have been asked to Manage the Lab, but, without a Managers wage or priveledges, (a vehicle, managers accomadation....) this is the reason I am looking for other work.

My co-workers are a pleasure to work with, a little respect goes a long way. We have pre-shift meetings before every start of the day where workers can be involved in the process of how our day will be shaped.

The hardest part of this job in when we have break downs of equipment or electrical outages. Because we are so remote it is sometimes very hard to get parts or services for any type of breakdown we have. We are very limited in services in Leonora.

The most enjoyable part of the job is being appreciated by my co-workers for the small things like helping them out to fill in forms to chaseing up payroll to find out why they didn't get paid.

The Job was dusty and repetitive, thats OK, work is work.
No talking because you're wearing dust mask, No music aloud.
 Most of my co-workers were good folk, different backgrounds and they all worked very hard.
 Managers were helpful or cold or short tempered depending on which manager was on your shift. I met a few managers who were very approachable, unfortunately I mostly worked with the short tempered and not so helpful managers. It really kills the atmosphere. I think some leaders cant handle the role and become stressed, which in turn dampens their "TEAM BUILDING" ability. One good thing about the company was the Health and Safety and even the top manager explained that he cares about people, not samples which I appreciated. 
Three rotating shifts so you'll be home some nights with your family, and other nights away at work. You'll be trained decently enough but once on your own you'll be busting to keep your KPI up. Sometimes machines break down so don't stress too much. Just be pro-active in getting it sorted. 
Stay away from people who complain all day if you can help it. 
Enjoy your work, enjoy your smoko break, and go home.

What is the best part of working at the company?
Was no best part. Very toxic workplace.

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Management and HR. If they decide they don't like you as a person, you are pushed out the door, and not in a fair way.

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Very unsafe work place, not sure how they get away with it. The culture is "get it done even if you have to cut corners". When you try and voice your concerns, you are kicked out quick smart.

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Turn up to work, get spoken to like an idiot, get given all the garbage jobs if management don't like you. Don't get included/invited to staff functions, usually just the same elite go. Go home buggered, turn up the next day to the same toxic environment.

I would answer the telephone and relay or transfer calls. I would do all the reception work for when people came in to office. take care of all in/out faxes. Answer emails. Check all data and reports for manager. take care of the archiving and filing.  Make appointments for other staff members for upcoming courses or enrolements. Work with other staff members in sending out coal samples and water samples. This job was very challenging and always something different to learn and do. It was great working with different fields of work and working with people to get the job done. The most enjoyable part of the day was reception working with the outside people and taking care of their needs.

What is the best part of working at the company?
The best part is around 6 weeks after you resign and finally received your last pay from them

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
The lack of care and support given to individuals 

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Confused, lacking leadership and direction and minimal realisation of their client requirements or employees goals and wellbeing. 

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Like smacking your own face into a wall repeatedly all day. Quickly becoming tiring, painful and unfulfilling. Leaving oneself with a sense of no achievement or purpose.

Worst company I’ve ever worked for. And I used to work on the council. It’s not the company but the managers. They do very little and the WH/S isn’t covered they made me work on a Guest pass on a mine site so I was NOT covered for injury nor was I even inducted to be on the site to operate the machinery they had. Hope they realise they are destroying the company since their turn over is the worst I’ve seen in any company. Managers at maccas have their s*** more together then these two people that “manage”

You most likely got told it's full time by your JSP but it's actually casual full time which means once they have no work they will just call you into the office as a massive group and tell you all you no longer have a job and to go home.
You'll be expected to maintain KPI's even when your machine breaks down.
The dust masks and suction vents do nothing for the airborne dirt and dust so after a while you'll start developing breathing issues.

I loved my job and the people I worked with during my 6.5 years working at the Warabook office - unfortunately, as is the case these days, I, along with numerous others, were made redundant recently.

There were no difficult parts of the job.  I learned new skills, new programs relevant to the Company and a typical day started at 8 am and finished at 4 pm.  There's no particular part of the job I enjoyed more than another, overall it was very satisfying and enjoyable.

Quickly went from (old Amdel days) of great place to work, close family like work colleagues, to moving deck chairs and creating management roles where none were required. Then to cut costs throttled the workers demanding more and more.

To be honest the acquisition was poorly handled, and the work force felt the brunt of that in the long term.

I have since heard that not only are they still using Lotus notes in IT but outsourced the helpdesk to India! Which is NOT going well at all.
