This was my first job. I worked there for many years, along side many other lovely staff members. As this place is Bunbury’s most visited tourist attraction it is a very busy, fast paced working environment. As much as this job helped me build my confidence it can just as easily tear it down with horrible snotty middle aged customer. There is a very strict dress code and you must keep a bland appearance (no visible tattoos, no unnatural hair colour, no bright nail polish, one pair of stud earrings). Unfortunately this job has little to no opportunity for career growth. You will find that the older you get the less hours you will be rostered as they simply would rather save costs than roster senior employees for more hours, as younger teenagers are cheaper. It is a vicious cycle of wanting to move on but not wanting to end up at a job that drags or staying barely earning enough to pay the bills. I would only recommend this job for short term employment.

Ok place to work with fantastic co-workers but unfair supervisors and management that lead to me leaving in Dec 2020. Was a very busy place especially the cafe to work and hours were decent and long however my supervisor would favour a select few employees over the rest and would constantly place herself on such a high pedal-stood- this practice was also common amongst the upper management who were often rude, arrogant and constantly changing ‘standards’ that were completely unnecessary and ignorant. Despite this the quality of your fellow co-workers was amazing and made the job bearable despite a horrible supervisor and management  

they give the days off you ask for but you will probably be called in a lot

very small space to stand on tills, hard to talk with your coworkers

managers are pretty good for registers/tills

small break room and often you won’t have a seat during christmas. the rest of the year there will be a spot to sit

strict dress code

they prefer to give teenagers lots of shifts because they are cheaper, so if you’re young and looking for a job, expect lots of long shifts

shifts range from 3 hours after school for teenagers, the most i’ve had is 10 hours. normally they try to give 5 or 7.5-8.5 hour shifts

Horrible, toxic environment. 
All staff are overworked, stressed and exhausted. Management and owners couldn’t care for any of the hundreds of employees mental or physical well-being. The cafe is so short staffed that the small amount of workers left are unable to have any time off. The environment is so toxic with constant rumours from upstairs management and backstabbing like you would see in a year 10 classroom. If you want a job where you get to work as if you are 3 staff members, never go home at a normal time and are constantly called in on your days off then BFM is the place!!

Good place to work- however the hours are not secure as going from 32-38 in summer down to 20 during he winter. Unfortunately lots of people do not have enough hours yet management continue to hire an excessive amount of employees which are unnecessary- recently the tills just employed a significant number of new employees when there are many previous employees who wanted more work!

Not Great pay for the work. 
Bunbury Farmers Market have some very friendly staff who create a healthy Job culture, however, some awful managing staff make you feel very unappreciated and lead me to feel on edge whilst at work. The owners are extremely ignorant and show very little appreciation or respect for even loyal employees.

Very supportive environment. Pleasant workplace. Excellent future advancement opportunities. Top management. 
Learned a lot while here, and enjoyed every minute. Would recommend this employer to anyone. And the food is just out of this world. Not bad shopping and working at such a high standard place.

Unfortunately, the market is subject to seasonal change which results more often than not reduced hours.
a reduction in hours from 30+ to 14 for 6months then back up again seemed harsh 
management prefered to keep 417 visa holders on rather than Australians

A typical day at the cashier is fairly boring as you are in the same little area doing the same thing all shift but most of the staff are really friendly and the managers are approachable and nice. The customers that come there are also generally lovely people.
