This voluntary role was extremely easy to apply to and the staff are willing to accept anyone who is interested in volunteering and are very welcoming and friendly. A typical day of work includes tidying and filling out on the shop floor, assisting customers, pricing, tagging, and steaming clothing and other donated items, dressing the window mannequins and handling till sales. The hardest part of the job was not only getting used to using a computerised till, but also interacting with members of the public and maintaining a calm exterior when the shop became busy. As I was young at the time and it was my first experience performing till sales, it was quite a challenging and stressful experience for me. However, I also feel that it dramatically improved my confidence and verbal communication skills. The most enjoyable part of the job was dressing the window mannequins, as I had the opportunity to freely add my own creative flare.

Working in British Heart Foundation at first was welcoming and exciting at the same time. The work procedures and work life style weren't so hard to learn and keep up with, and from any other organisation that i have worked in, working in this company gave me a lot of freedom and option as too what i'd like to do, however i was pretty much everywhere, from being at the back helping stocking up and throwing away products that were sabotage to communication with customers help gain sales and helping at the reception. Having too have be able to do  variety of different job roles allowed me to build more confident as i felt i had built a good trust with the workers too my working capacity. The most enjoyable part of the job was most likely informing customers with different information and showing different option from what they could purchase allowing me to meet range of different people.

I once had to write deliveries in a delivery book; however my other colleague said she was meant to do them because she was there for a long time than me. So what I did I give her the worksheets and she did the delivery documents in a collection document book which I was asked to redo the next day by my manager. The hardest thing about being a voluntary worker is that you are always on your feet and you are always blamed for other small faults in a work area when you don't even have to be blamed. The enjoyable part of the job is that you get to make a friendly workplace, a lot of customers will keep coming back all because of how u talked to them and helped them choose their desirable furniture. They always ask you to help them to pick their favourite and it would be a pleasure that someone you do not know personally appreciate you

I was only part time so it fitted around my circumstances great.

I was a warehouse assistant and it involved a lot ( and I really do mean a lot!! ) of heavy lifting. Usually there was 2 of you to do the lifting but sometimes you have to move large, awkward, heavy items from welsh dressers to reclining sofa's, with  electric motors, by yourself and that's not fun.

I cannot comment on the company in general as I only worked in 1 store. All of the staff there were awesome to work with but the Store Manager was a complete nightmare. She went out of her way to make me feel very uncomfortable and seemed to take great pleasure in belittling me and making my time there very unenjoyable. The assistant manager was superb, a great laugh.

Helping customers out and sorting out deliveries. I learnt skills as teamwork, hard work and how to be polite and patient with difficult customers. Management was brilliant and the manager was trustworthy and friendly, always willing to help others. It was always clean and tidy and all the furniture was kept visible so customers didn't have a problem finding what they were looking for. The hardest part of the job was sorting out the deliveries as sometimes they were quite large and heavy so it was hard to get them through the main garage door. The most enjoyable part was the funny co-workers that made my job satisfying.

i go to british at 9.30 until 5 and it is a typical day by cleaning and make sure everything is clean before 10.00 when the people come in store. I have learnt more about myself as a person and i have learnt more about my skills. the mamagement tells you more about the company and gives you a lot of detials on your job role. the hardest part is when road works are happening near you and not a lot of customers come in, the most enjoyable part is finding the things the customers want and they make you feel welcome and booking in the things that people donant to the company. 

An exceptionally hardworking, honest and energetic individual with experience as an assistant nurse and paramedic assistant. Currently completing health & social care at college, and aiming to gain employment within the care industry and use my skills to provide the best quality of life to patients. My enthusiasm and friendly personality allows me to form excellent rapport with a patients and colleagues; in addition I have always had excellent attendance and punctuality in previous employment.

All the staff members were super friendly and felt like family. It can be really busy during the afternoon and evenings so you would need to be prepared to deal with a lot of customers, manage your time well and move around a lot. At the end of each day, you felt accomplished if you did really well since all of the money earned goes towards a good cause. Overall, it was really fun to work here and you learn a lot of essential skills along the way.

Every day it was a different type of work as soon as I come in I was expect to do anything .I've been working in a team with 4 other people I had so much fun and learned a lot of things such as team work,problem solving skills and more importantly we tried our best to help the customers. Some of the customers were unable to speak because of the language barrier thanks to that my language skills came out to be useful by translating it for them.
