At the Brisbane airport its always busy and should be active. what i eventually learned when working there was the procedures and policies of the airport and how things go on a daily basis. The management team is very good and the co-workers very helpful. About the hardest part of the job was holding someone who does not have any identification and he/she shouting at you. In these cases, calmness and the way to talk to someone is very helpful, till the problem is resolved. I enjoyed working there and got the opportunity to learn more about the security set-up and the planes also.

With a start time of 5am I finish at 1pm and have ample time to do all that  needs to be done on a daily basis. I work in a friendly environment, not only with my own workmates, but also with people in neighbouring stores and general airport workers. The hardest part of my job is when my alarm wakes me at 3am.  The most enjoyable part of my job is working in a one man store where I am trusted to keep the store clean and tidy, free of rubbish, well stocked, and have happy  customers who leave with a smile on their face.

A great team environment and from day 1 you felt that you belonged and the atmosphere created at work was one centered around family values where all staff took an interest in what you were trying to achieve and assisted wherever possible.

In my first day at work I met some very kind and friendly workmates who are willingly more than ready to assist me fitting to the environment. I am obliged to work with Jet-star company.Its a privilege to involve serving our locals and internationals community.  
The management has played a big roll I guess for the peaceful multicultural environment it had created. That is what draw my interest  to work in such environment.

They will canceled your shift within less than 2 hours before your start time. Without any explanation. They provided lunch only on Friday.
They don’t really care about your situation.
They like to keep hiring new staff and the result is that you got less shift because you have to share it with other new staff. 

I was responsible for the reporting of capital works to all project managers and updating of cash flow.  Assets were entered into the finance system.  I created reports to ensure the accuracy of the Tax and Accounting Assets and Depreciaton and reconciliation of Capital Works upon completion.

From the outside everything looks good but after you join the team you realise that the leadership and management encourages bad behaviour and is a very toxic place to work.  Bullying, yelling & bad behaviour is what this place is all about.

i enjoy the job but there are no hours available, the work itself is great and you get to experience all different aspects of the airport, but unfortunately we are subcontracted and therefor do not receive enough hour to live on.

A good and challenging environment with a broad and complex array of systems in a critical 24/7 service support model.
Office location is well catered for parking and an easy cross town commute.
