Bradken

I personaly found Bradken Mining to be one of the best places i have ever worked in.They do take the time to work out whats best for there employees by ensuring they get a fair pay,shift allowances and given meal breaks.I do believe more could be done for there employees but was happy with the benifits they gave myself in return i always put in more hard work than what was expected from me. I spent just under 10 years at Bradken and for one do not regret a single given moment whilst there.The huge range of different employees just showes you how multi-cultured they are and its definately safe to say that bradken mining are not a racist or descriminative company at all.Over the years of employment there i found myself qualified in a range of different duties throughout the work shop and within the office.I started out as a welder and ended as a night shift supervisor,learning different skills along the way.I thank them very much for my time spent there and are greatfull for the experiences that i know carry with me in my future.My most favourite part of my career at bradken was the duty of being there for my colleagues on a daily basis and ensuring there safety and watching there progress within the workplace every step of the way.

Started early each day by clocking on, as I walked to the office/workshop checking each area by a quick look around and greet workers. 
Arrive at workshop for tidy check and employee arrival, continue to office to check computer for job requests, maintenance work or safety issues for the day and convert and prioritize these into job to do lists and give out these at a morning meeting with the crew along with any other company notices.
I learned a lot about frontline management, M.E.X. maintenance system, auditing, Job Safety Analysis, Work Procedures, Managing.
I think the hardest was also the most enjoyable and self rewarding as the company was 12 months behind in their maintenance program, will the help of the crew we caught up on maintenance schedule while maintaining all machinery and breakdowns recording all electrical drawings and instructions in a newly created library storing the folders in the areas needed as well a central library.
Several areas had no work procedures so new procedures developed, tested and implemented while commissioning new machinery.

Working at bradken was very exciting with never a dull moment. My job was to maintain the plant electrically, both machines and the factory itself. 
My co-workers were very easy going and i enjoyed working with them, they helped shape the electrician I am today. My supervisors were strict but fair.
The hardest part of my job was probably the environment itself, sometimes the atmosphere was very difficult to exist in. Some days were very hot getting up to probably 60 - 70 degrees with metal being melted. Also sometimes the smoke made from melting the metal was extremely hazardous and toxic.
My favourite part of the job was the variety of work conducted, from constructing cable runs and brackets, to replacing proximity switches, designing switchboards, to setting up new machines.
I loved my job.

My typical day at work consisted of working at the iron section bending iron and I was a forklift driver. It was at Bradken that I learnt how to drive a forklift in a safe way, I learnt how to operate machines to making cores and bending irons. The management at Bradken, I would have to say that it wasn't really good, there would be moments where I do my job with consistency and  excellence and at a well paced level yet was treated unfairly and poorly. I got along really well with all my co-workers and we always worked together as a team. The hardest bit of the job would of have to been bending the iron. I enjoyed helping the people around me who needed help, I enjoyed working with forklifts and I enjoyed the environment I was in because of the people around me.

Arriving at 6 am with toolbox meeting of all workers. Starting up Picking and Packing orders to be shipped to other companies. Loading and unloading trucks. Personally I thought that the stores department could have been managed better. I felt  Some co-workers relied to much on the experience and ability of others. Once I learned the way in which the company operated there was nothing really hard about it. Working independently of others was the most enjoyable part of the job.

Busy production area with plenty to do. Learn t many facets of leadership and performance management. Crew always willing to assist in achieving high outputs  to meet customer demands.Relatively easy position with no real complications due to diligence and effective training of employees. Most enjoyed working with HR Department to ensure smooth integration of new employees.

I loved working here at Bradken the people here were awesome to work with,managing staff was good easy to get along with.i really did learn a lot with Bradken different types off jobs,the beauty about Bradken it was a job you can work at your own pace with no pressure as long as you get your job done.bradken was a multi cultural everybody gone along with each other I wish I was still working there apart from the heat it the best job I’ve ever had by far.i just want to thank bradken company for allowing me the opportunity to work with an awesome company

It is a Good place to work and learn about mining equipment in general . 
It is a Company that will allow you to progress up the ladder if wish . 
The workshop culture or environment is one in which everybody help's each other and the day's work goes quickly .
Management are very good and will help you understand the job's which also make's you want to go to work which is unusual in the mining industry . All in all a Good Place to work ...    

General office duties involving arranging shipments of materials processed in Western Australia and sent through to Europe,  America and Indonesia.

Excellent Managers with goods communication skills with the company empowering staff to do additional training to benefit staff in dealing with day to day tasks.
