Terrible work culture . Constantly under pressure to sell overpriced devices. If you aren’t able to sell top of the line devices every single time, management will question your ability to work there. No job security, constantly threatening warnings for ‘under performance’ when unable to push clients hard enough for expensive devices or meet touch screen quotas. Management did not care about the customers, only the outcome of the sale. Encouraged workers to push clients into sales, often times I felt as if I worked for a MLM company. We were pressured to corner people into coming in for a touchscreen on the lease line, asking every single person, often times would be sworn at etc.
Constantly on your feet, no work life balance, no support from head office, only threatening emails. 
Constantly bombarded daily in regards to sales targets.  One SOM in particular would constantly bring up how the owners of the company are in debt and it was our duty to help them ‘pay it back’. Absolutely ridiculous. 
Completely fear based management. It was awful. I did meet some lovely people working there but such a high turnover of staff.
The only positive was the high salary but you did have to work weekends. 

I have worked many sales jobs in my working career, I have also had extremely hard targets and worked under the most pressured conditions and that was fine by me that's what I signed up for.  However I was motivated to achieve, I was incentivised, there was always a huge support to help you achieve those goals and huge bonuses as well as clear paths and encouragement for progressing your career if you wanted to do so. Bay Audio provides none of this! 
I was duped by the statement that we would be 'changing peoples lives', not really sure if that was the ultimate goal for the company. More like 'get as many touchscreens as you can'
I have never worked for a company that puts you on performance management within a month of not meeting targets, everything is very pushy at Bay when it comes to their targets. 
I heard nothing but stories of staff being fired, teams being rearranged etc etc, I never felt safe! apart from the months the store did well, even then it was 'how can you do better?.
It's extremely boring and tiresome work, although if your a clinician its a good place to work for the money but the pressure is the same. Can't believe I lasted as long as I did.

Overpriced sales based company pretending to be a health centre. The upper management will try to convince you they care and want to help people but the stress they put on the staff is atrocious. The State Managers job seems to be to just send emailed statistics out and when you ask for help the advice is to call another store. When you start they fly in a company trainer who you train with for a week. It's never in the actual store you're hired for. This trainer will be the nicest person in the world and everything's great but its a lie. It's a front. They dont want you to know the truth. They dont want you knowing that the store you're going to has had 3 SMs in the last year. As a store manager you have no control of who you work with. It might be a different casual every day. Your own KPIs are purely $ amounts. You personally have no control in the selling of the device. Your job is to get the customer to see the audiologist. If the audiologist doesn't sell it's your fault. If the customer has fine hearing it's your fault. The only way to succeed is if you have the best salesperson/audiologist. You never feel like you have job security. Even the stores who do exceptionally well look like nervous wrecks. AVOID at all costs. It's not worth it.

If you hard, you’ll be fine. If your slack don’t bother. Always rewarded for quality work. High pressure to get the sales. Good products. Good training. NSO was friendly and welcoming. Easy interview, willing to take on employees with little experience and give them a chance. Management was very approachable if you have any issues or questions. Plenty of bonuses for hard workers. Flexible with your start and finish times. Overall positive company to work for. The only people that complained about the working conditions there were the ones that weren’t performing as well as expected. CEO was lovely, office environment was high pressure but understanding. Leadership team was experienced. Marketing manager was a good easy to work for, always willing to give good advice on how to do better, friendly competition amongst co workers, all in all a positive experience. If you want to work hard and do the right thing you’ll definitely be appreciated. 

The best job out there for motivated audiologists who are customer focused in getting the best outcomes for customers. The energy is face-paced and dynamic in our stores, and requires that we are well-rounded. 

Management is very supportive and we are encouraged to ensure our customer outcomes can be best achieved with any hearing device they have chosen - high or low end. It is always about doing the right thing. I would not consider working anywhere else as I have only been treated well over the years. I have worked for other providers who pretend to be ethical. I appreciate the leadership team at Bay Audio for being upfront and always striving to do the right thing by our customers.

No downsides for me.  Of course all businesses have KPIs and challenges. But those who do not self-motivate or share our passion don't last.. I feel that past employees that are disgruntled are most often unmotivated and have not held themselves accountable for their work performance.

No work-life balance:
Says 40 hours per week, 9-5:30 Mon-Fri. Management then schedules mandatory meetings such as weekly store meetings, clinical meetings and other meetings 8:30-9:00 or 8:00-9:00, which you must attend without getting paid. If you don't attend, they will harass you.
Management gives you a last-minute call at 8 or 9 pm on a Friday notice you that next week you going to work somewhere 800km away from your home and it is unnegotiable. Spend your weekend driving without getting paid or at risk of losing your job.

Management always says they want "change people's live," but every day, they send emails about how much money we made, how much we are behind budget and how much we need to make today, etc, and our staff turnover is crazy.

The price of hearing aids a the most expensive national wide and start of this month they increased it again. So many customers come back asking for a refund because they find somewhere cheaper 


Absolutely appalling. Was made to move to a store I didn't want to go to. Unrealistic sales targets. My SOM was amazing, but a large percent of other higher ups aren't trained well enough and their overall knowledge is that of a toddler.

Very, Very, Very sales based and not much leg room if you want a personal life. They protect the clinicians with everything they have.The clinicians can get away with murder, and you're treated 2nd class to them. I was a Store Manager, And the clinician I worked with was the most unprofessional childish person I've ever worked with.  

Bay Audio Cover up that they are all about sales so they don't get in trouble by ACCC. They don't care about the customer at all. I remember being told how much debt that the owners are in, like that should be our main concern. 

If you want to keep your sanity and dignity. Do not, work for Bay Audio.

My days started with logging into 2 databases that interfaced along with outlook and the rest of the tools I used.
I started by calling people that had done a quick hearing test the day before that showed a loss-and to convince them to come into a clinic for a free in-depth hearing test-I learned Citrix while I was employed there and also worked on telephone techniques
Management was hands on, probably because they had just moved their call centre from Ballina to Parramatta.
Co-workers were always helpful,the hardest thing was outbound calling as I has never done this before and the most enjoyable was the phone aspect

Helping customers is amazing but it's very disappointing when they can't afford it, prices are overly expensive can feel like you are ripping people off. Changing area management offen, they are unable to keep staff and the top management are all men when the business is mostly made up of women (80%). Extremely money hungry with an outdated business model. Pay varies depending on what area manager you have. Heavy focused on KPIs that are unrealistic. 

I get to talk to customers about doing hearing checks and now that I work here I can see that I can help people. In the early part of my role I got to sit in with a clinician and see a customer get fitted with devices and that was amazing to see their eyes light up.

We have a target to have customers do the test and that keeps us challenged to beat our previous day.

Whilst it is in retail centres it is a sales and retail role and ideal if you like working in a busy, fast paced environment where we can create success.
